I have not been formally diagnosed yet but my Neuro thinks I might have Fibro. I did a trigger point test on me tonight and everyone hurt. This is the first time all of them have hurt me. My problem is that lately it has been increasingly hard to walk. I would describe it as if my muscles are fatigued, sore, and as if I am trying to walk through water. I have to stop and let them rest or they get so tired. Is this a normal symptom? I also have trouble holding my arms up for too long. There is no inflammation in my muscles that has been established, and no neuropathy. I am starting to wander if Fibro could possibly cause this.

Yes, life with Fibro can feel as if your swimming in mud. I can be painful to just brush your teeth or hair. (That's why I no longer have long hair.) Walking can be very strenuous.Sometimes the littlest of tasks seem to take an insurmountable effort and energy.Just exhausting and overwhelming. These are "normal" symptoms for Fibro. The good thing is that they pass in time !!

Hi Allison,
I tell people that i feel like one of those young guys that you see with the waist of his pants down at his knees and he thinks it's cool but he looks really weird trying to walk like that. Well, that's how I feel sometimes when I walk. My arms get tired easy. There was one night when I was washing my hair and not only did my arms hurt but my whole head hurt to touch it. That hasn't happened again but it was weird.

Hello Allisonic, I am encouraged to hear you are seeing a doctor at this time and he is supportive to your needs. You may want to begin a journal and take it with you when you visit your doctor. Some days are good days and some days we struggle. I hope you have a better understanding of fibromyalgia as you are seeking information. I have been living with fibromyalgia most all my life. I have been diagnosed with fibro for 10 years. May you be blessed...Shawn

Yes Allison it sounds like Fibro.
This past summer my husband joked that he was going to have to paint the kitchen floor white, because Everytiem I got the milk out I dropped it. What is it, like 5lbs? Really you can't hold up 5lbs. It's crazy. My legs do feel like I'm in mud most days.

Thank you for your feedback. Ouchy yes I am actually cutting my hair tomorrow for an easier style. lol Holy yes it does feel similar to walking with your pants down. I don't lift my legs that much when I walk now. I have definately learned to pace myself I have better days than others. Thank you all for your kindness.

Hi there! That does sound like Fibro. I get that walking through maple syrup feeling often It is as though your legs suddenly gained 50 lbs apiece. You've done wisely in coming here at the beginning! You'll find a lot of support & you'll never feel isolated.

There are times that I feel like I literally hit a wall and I want nothing more than to lie down. I cannot hold a phone up to my ear for more than a few minutes before I experience significant pain. I've gotten a blue tooth! I hope you doctor is able to help you and hope you will not be too hard on yourself.

It does sound like the type of fatigue associated with FMS. I recall having muscle fatigue like that in the very beginning (quite some time ago) Routine, low impact exercise can really help with that. It will also help increase your stamina. Has your doc suggested it?
