Thank you all for helping me to understand what the heck is going on with my body.

Like I said in my last post, I can handle the pain but I forgot to mention the fatigue and always being tired.

If I could handle the fatigue and tired feelings then I could drive. The pain comes and goes and I would just go from one hand on the wheel to the other but I get so freakin' tired, my family won't let me drive and I'm afraid of getting somewhere and not being able to make it back home.

SOoooooo, what do you'all do for fatigue and being tired that helps you get through the day but doesn't keep you up all night at the same time.

Thanks buddies!!!!

" I can definitely relate. I can handle the pain, it's the fatigue that gets to me as well. I have started B12 shots twice a week, along with a multivitamin and bunch of other supplements. I'm just starting it, so I can't truly say it works, but I do feel a little better than I did before. My sleep dr. also prescribed Provigil, which supposedly helps with energy, but I guess I'll never find out because my insurance doesn't cover it and it cost $599.00 for a 30 day supply.

I think just like everything fibro-related, it's going to be trial and error in finding what works for you. Best wishes on finding it and finding it soon!

Take care. "

" For every day energy, I take vitamin D daily and B12 shots weekly. If I need a boost, then I take D-Ribose powder (5 grams in the morning) along with real fruit juice and a B12 dissolvable tablet.

If I need mega energy, I take a full 5 hour energy drink. It's loaded with caffeine, D-Ribose, B vitamins etc.

Xylocaine gel works for long drives as it contains lidocaine. I use cruise control almost every time I drive as my leg gets too sore if I don't. "

" D-Ribose, NADH, Co Q 10, Malic Acid

Foods that increase energy production - peanut butter on whole wheat bread, tuna fish, bell pepper, nuts, yogurt, bananas, oats, dark chocolate, apples, oranges, cantaloupe, parsley.and a whole bunch more.

Fill your diet with this stuff. What you put in your body makes a huge difference in how you feel. The effects are sometimes immediate. Find the foods that make you feel good. "

" I've been taking B12 supplements....I'm up to 5000mcg and I'm a bit better, but not where I should be I guess. The next time I go see my doc, I'll get my blood done again and maybe she'll be able to see if I need to get shots. I hope not, because my doc is a 90 minute bus ride...one way. And riding on the bus is NOT fun when the seats aren't even cushioned.

I also tend not to fight it when my body says "I'm tired, let's go to sleep". Most of the time anyway. Sometimes I don't know if it's fatigue or depression or boredom that sends me to bed. I also tend to want to sleep during the day, not at night. *shrugs* "

" For me, D-ribose, omega 3, magnesium, B complex vitamins, and a few other supplements have really helped my fatigue...I also take Flexeril at night to be sure I get enough sleep. Down days between busy days and naps help too. And I've pretty much eliminated processed sugar from my diet...that helps me feel better as well.

Hope you find what works for you! HUGS from down south :) "

" At first I thought it said now what to do about fat. I was going to say I have plenty and was willing to share. Any takers ? LOL ! For energy I take B 12 and sugarfree Red Bull ! If that doesn't work....a nap ! I eat all the stuff that Unduki mentioned. Except the wheat/gluten. Notice a big difference when I don't take my vitamins. B12, B6, D and calcium/magnesium. Tried a Probiotic 5 combo but gives me severe heartburn. I'll stick to yogurt. "

" LOL! I noticed that too and thought oh great, people without weight issues aren't going to even look. LOL!

Thank you all for your help here. Hopefully I'll be driving soon because of your suggestions.

HUGS! "

" Fatigue is a real bugger. I can totally relate! Recently, I began taking an Omega 3-6-9 supplement 2x/day. The change has been remarkable! I'm more energetic & alert & the Fibro fog is nowhere near as severe as it used to be. As a result, I'm in a better mood. I added in a B3 supplement taken with supper & a St.John's Wort supplemement B4 bed. This has improved how deeply I sleep & I am not groggy in the morning. These supplements were cheap but they've really helped me out. "

" Have you had your Vitamin D level checked recently? The new research on Vit D deficiency says that fatigue can be another symptom of too little of this vitamin we seldom hear about. My doc tested me after I asked and found I was "quite deficient". He put me on a "rescue" dose of 50,000 IUs once a week for 8 weeks, then 2,000 IUs daily. Today is my second dose. I'm qute excited about the possibilities of this vitamin. I live north of Seattle, WA and as you know, it rains a lot here. This combined with the fear of skin cancer, keeps people away from the sun which is our body's main source of Vit D. Check it out. You'll be amazed what is linked to low vit D level. Good Luck! "

" Hi momknits - Yes my Vitamin D was realy low - 7. so they put me on the 50000 too but because I have had kidney stones, I can only take it once every 2 weeks. I just took my 3rd one today. I really hope it helps too. It's hard not being able to drive around. My oldest daughter has a spinal cord disease and that was one thing to get her out of the house was me taking her for rides to parks or the woods.
Blessings "
