Typical day, headache woke me up at 4:00 a.m. Over the past three days two of those were the worst days I have ever had with the fibro pain. Through all of that I get asked by CLOSE family member's what is wrong with you??? as if they have no clue I had anything wrong, and this is the first time they heard about it. UGH!!!!

Anyway have any of you ever been to the web site thriftyfun.com ? Kinda neat site, just in general site, handy tips some of you might enjoy. Hope everyone has a good day.

" Have you talked to your doctor about the headaches? Where are they located? There may be some simple treatments for them. Are you taking ibuprofen for them? I was and found out that all the ibuprofen I was taking could actually be the cause of the headaches. My doctor had me switch to acetaminaphen and the frequency of them decreased.

Hugs

" Thanks, I will try what I can. I cant take ibuprofen because I take lexapro, can only take tylenol. I dont eat any meat products, maybe it is cheese products that is doing it. They are almost like migraine in strength, my fibro doctor said that was a symptom. I have the headaches from about my eyebrows and it goes all the way back to my neck, sometimes it is only on one side, usually the right side. Hugs to all of you. "

" Good luck with the finding something that helps, I hope you can. I've had them for years. A brain tumor was found and I thought finally I would be free of the headaches once the tumor was gone. 11 hour surgery, no relief from the headaches. Been to all kinds of docs, neuros, etc. Sometimes pain meds that are taken for other things that have happened to me like kidney stones, give me rebound headaches so I have to lay off, but whether or not I'm taking anything, i can pretty much guarantee that I'll wake each morning with a headache and spend most of my day with one :/ Weather changes make them even worse and also make the tinnitus worse. Guess I better get used to it, or seek out a padded room as necessary!! "

" Your headache sounds like a migraine, have you been to a Neurologist? I take Topamax for my migraine, it has relieved them greatly. If you don't think you need to go the prescription route yet, he also said Execedrin is best for headaches.

Hope this finds you headache free! "

" Acupressure and Trigger point therapy, you can do both with your own hands. The cause could be something you consume such as a food or med or could be knotted muscles in your neck. I hope you find the way to stop them I know they can be so debilitating. Take care.

" Based on the location and that it is usually one sided I would look into Occipital Neuralgia. The base of your head is an area called your occiput. Nerves exit the brain there. It you have tense muscles surrounding that area those nerves can get inflammed and cause headaches that radiate up the side of the to your temple/eye area. I was having this same issue. My doc put me on Flexeril at night and then Tylenol to get rid of the residual pain. For the most part it works. I occasionally will still get them, or a small one just around the base of the head...but it is only about once a week or every two weeks...much better than daily!!

Good luck! "

" I too have Occipital Neuralgia and get nerve blocks for that. I also suffer from chronic daily migraines, but I think it all stems from the stress in the back of my neck. I get a massage two times a month and that seems to not only help the fibro, but the migraines as well. I wish you the best and many many pain free days! "
