Ok So I had made some off handed replys and mentioned rashes I have had over the cource of a life time. ANd I got back some intresting replys mentioning that they had the same problem. And while we all had different types of rashes one thing was common... no doctor could dx them nor find a way to cure them and then one day as they came they left....

So I was wondering, how many of you have had an odd rash that the doctors were baffled at or gave you some dx that you knew was reaching?

I have had 4. the first was at about the age of 15 and the last was a year ago and by far the worst. It lasted 6 months, and left scars. All 4 rashes were very different and painful in thier own way. What has yors been like??? And have you ever been told that the rashes were linked to fibro??? I havent but I am sure they are

" I have a werid thought. I get werid rashes, as does my mom and sister. They get them a lot worse than I do, and scar from them. Eventually, mom was told (after tests were run) that it was an allergic reaction to her own body!! I know that is werid, but it makes sense. I figured out that I only got rashes when I sweat, so yeah, bring up that idea. I don't know exactly how it works, but it makes sense. "

" Add me to yr list! I get them on my arms & they itch & burn. No Dr ever can figure out what they are & why I get them. One says it is 'Uticaria' (basically, A RASH! heehee) One thing I did was to switch to an all natural detergent & fabric softener. All 'scratchy' fabrics are gone & I wear only very soft smooth fabrics. Get rid of any synthetic soaps & try a moisturizing oatmeal/lavender/olive oil bar (L'Occitane makes good ones) & NEVER let yr skin get dried out (Eucerin lotion helps). The occasional non-drowsy reactine might be good too during those times where your skin insists on acting up regardless of what you do. "

" the rashes I get are not allegic reactions. I know this because nothing I change makes them go away and I have eaten and used the same kinds of things for a very long time and no rashes now or befor the culprit rash. My last rash looked like a head of califlower and had clear fluid in it. And twice I did get the same bumps spread out on my other arm and legs steroids made it go away everywhere else except for the big one that was on my left forearm. It was at least 8 inchs in diameter and ugly.... and I did nothing different and one day it just went away.... it took a little time but you could tell it was going away andI didnt do anything different to make it go away...

Nothing really helped witht he itch either... it was odd and bizare

DO any of you ever feel like you shouldbe on that medical show about medical mysteries??? "

" Hi, yes I get rashes. I thought they were spider bites or mosquito bites. I would get them and they would take for ever to go away. The doctor said it was foliculitis and is related to my autoimune disorders. She said to make sure to keep my skin moistured. I also put neosporin on them and it helps them to heal faster. I get them mostly on my arms and my head. "

" Yep! I really do feel that way. We can be like walking (or limping) lexicons of peculiar symptoms. You seldom see any shows that mention Fibro. When they do, it is typically a show about Arthritis & Fibro is a side-bar. One such show I saw told the tale of a little girl with Fibro & how she had to lie down all the time. She missed a lot of school & didn't have the energy to play with her friends the way she wanted to. Cases like hers make me feel all the more adamant about discussing & researching Fibro. Though her childhood has been affected badly, perhaps her adult years will be brighter. "
