Today is November 7, 2009 and it is= -- Sadie Hawkins Day...On this day in Dogpatch (a fictional town where Lil' Abner, Daisy May, and, of course, Sadie Hawkins live) unmarried men start running for their lives in a race....unmarried girls chase after them....if a girl catches a guy, he has to marry her....you single girls, go out there and finds you a husban' ---all of you young girls will find this amusing, but when I was a pre-teen/early teenager, it was thought of as "Pushy" and Slutty for a girl to call a guy and ask him out. ......(If that boy does not call me by Wednesday for a date on Saturday, he can just forget it....I am NOT easy!) ........So, High Schools would have Sadie Hawkins Day Dances....girls would "brazenly" call a guy on the phone and ask him to go with her....or go to the dance with friends and then ask him to dance, instead of standing to the side, praying that some guy would ask her.... .(I have to be honest here though....I never stood against any wall waiting for some guy to ask me to dance....I danced with my girlfriends from entrance time to exit time at any dance...if a guy wanted to dance with me, he knew where to find me) Which brings me back to a memory....I am a Philly girl...when I was about 19, I was out one night with some friends, dancing....a guy from someplace, I can't remember where, came up and said, "I have never seen girls dancing together any place, until I came to New Jersey and Philadelphia." I had not idea that people acted differently than we did....hmmm Fala Day=Fala was Franklin D Roosevelt's Scottish Terrier. I don't know much about this, but Republican Senators spread a rumor that FDR had left Fala on some island, realized she was left behind, and then sent a Naval destroyer to retrieve her. This was not a true story....FDR got really angry that anyone attacked his Fala....he made a public speech bashing the Republicans for the attack on this day in 1944......Now, why this earns rememberance, I don't understand, but I don't know the whole story AND International 'Tongue Twister Day=She sells sea shells down by the sea shore......Your turn Yesterday I didn't do anything fascinating. My knee is still jacked up, but I don't know why. Today my husband has ideas of taking out window screens and washing windows....I have ideas that he must be dreaming, because my knee hurts and I feel like a frozen crapsicle. Unless I start to feel better quickly, he is working alone today Say this fast 3 times: I saw Susie sitting in a shoe shine shop. Where she sits she shines, and where she shines she sits. Good Morning, D and all!!!
A BEAUTIFUL day here down south....oh, I LOVE our fall weather!! Yesterday we booked our wedding venue, but without the fiance' to see it, sooooo this morning we are taking him there....hope he likes it, as the deposit is already paid!! LOL Then my LSU Tigers play football this afternoon, and I will watch on TV...they are playing one of our fiercest rivals, Alabama, whose head coach used to be OUR head coach. Sooo it will be a heated game....I don't expect LSU to win, but hopefully they will play well.... D, you must rest that knee, and feel better! Superwoman D must return!!! I've had a few great days in a row, and I'm thinking its the new supplements and ribose....very exciting!! Let's see....."How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?" ...........hmmmm, I think there may be more to that one, but the fog has swallowed it up.... Hope everyone has a wonderful, blessed day, and HUGS from down south :)

Hi My D and ladies!
D, I'm so sorry that knee is still bellyachin'. But I kinda sorta get into detailed cleaning like cleaning the window screens. Shortly after we moved into this house we upgraded the windows. So now, I can do it all from inside the house. I love it! But I do have one big picture window I still need to get outside and wash. One isn't that bad. Well, today, my handsome little 4yr old is taking his Nana out for a pizza date. (his first little date). We are trying to teach him how to treat ladies....opening doors, using his polite words and such. So, today, he learns about dates. I'm gonna have him stop and pick up some flowers and chocolates for her. I'm gonna take pictures before they leave. Awe....my big mamma heart is just melting already! So, I'm off...to help him on his pizza date! Happy Saturday to everyone. And D...my hubby and I are always thinking of tongue twisters to create. We'll come up with one and I'll post it later. Hope your knee feels better fast! Cajun....hope your soon to be son in law likes the venue! It sounds cool! I love old historic buildings! Hugs to all!

Today is my youngest child's 19th birthday. She's mad at me and saying she's going to move out. I really hate this about kids cutting their apron strings.
Mine seem to have to be so dramatic about it - and it's usually about not wanting to clean up after themselves. I just want to scream but it would hurt my head too much. I'm so sorry to hear that your knee is still hurting so much. You really did get a lot done...

Ok, heres a really great one which my deseased Dad used to tease us kids with. He made us say it until we couldn't stop giggling....... "Which witch switched the witches wrist watch" ! Say this quickly 3 times and I bet you can't do it without a mistake and a lot of giggles!

Good evening D and everyone, very late here, Sunday evening,
D, sorry you knee is still giving you trouble, mydogpoochie yours as well, this is not good, make sure you both get plenty of rest. Cajun, how lovely, beautiful fall weather. You're making me jealous as we swelter in an unusual November heatwave. How exciting having the venue booked for the wedding. Wonder, how lovely. It's never to early for males to learn good manners. My SIL had her 4 yo grandson open the door and say 'Ladies first', blew her away. Unduki, totally sympathise with children expressing their independence. It can be very difficult and hurtful sometimes. A quick little twister for you I wish to wish the wish you wish to wish, but if you wish the wish the witch wishes, I won't wish the wish you wish to wish.
