DIWALI & MEN MAKE DINNER DAY
Watch this

Good Morning,

Today is November 5, 2009 and it is:

Diwali===Diwali is a 5 day Festival of Lights in the Hinduism. It celebrates the triumph of good over evil. Traditionally, it is the celebration of the Raama (the good guy) over Ravana (the bad guy). But it has evolved into the celebration of the light inside of a person and the daily triumph of good over evil.
***I am not a Hindu, so I do not know all of the gods and traditions. This is just a poor lay-woman's synopsis on the day.***I am sure you could google it for more specific information or maybe one of our members can enlighten us on it.

and

National Men Make Dinner Day===I like the sound of this for all of you....I hope your men do just this and spoil you for a bit......However, in my house, I am going to pass on this one. The dinner would be fantastic, But...my husband does not get home until 6 - 7PM,
--- it will be very dark and cold, so he will not want to use the grill, which means that he will be in the kitchen..
....so we would be eating at 7 -8PM=...
...and although the food would be great, the kitchen would look like a tornado had gone through it, and even if he cleaned it, it would not be clean enough for me, so I would be cleaning the kitchen until 8-9PM...
..I would rather do it myself (I know, I have no one to blame but myself, but I know it and will not complain about it)

I have whipped the buggers out of the cold that was trying to build gigantic strength inside of me....DA DA DAAAAAAAA. I pampered myself, took my vitamins, made my family cure, and after 2 days of battle.....I AM TRIUMPHANT.....I now just have a little tickle in the throat from time to time, but by tomorrow, I will don my Super Hero Cold Fighter Uniform and fly around the world.

Did you know:
-You can glide a dryer sheet over a dry shower door, to clean soap scum

-a flu virus can live on a dollar bill for 17 DAYS...You should Wash your hands often and use hand sanitizer.

Did you know: That I hope you find 100 reasons to smile today

" Good Morning, D and all!!!

Oooo, Hubby makes supper day!! Just might take him up on that....of course, he will argue that he cooks as much as I do, so why would today be any different???

Today, we are looking at venues for wedding #2...and maybe at some dresses....D, does this sound familiar???

BEAUTIFUL day here...soooo we're gonna enjoy it to the fullest....Hubby took the day off to run around with us, so it will be fun.

D, so glad you are feeling better....keep taking good care of the NOW BEATEN cold!!

HUGS to all from down south :) "

" Morning D and everyone.

Have hubby make dinner? hmmmmmmm that sounds like a good idea as long as it's out side. He's like a bull in a china shop when it comes to the kitchen. AND I'm not going to clean it up. That's for sure.

Nice to hear that you are feeling better. Nasty cold begone!

Getting read for my 2 day craft show this weekend. Got my hand sanitizer ready to go. Still up in the air about getting the H1N1 shot...

Hugs Fancy Pants "

" Hiya D and ladies!

Wow, this week flew by for me. I felt so important....momma meetings and all. But we've got a good game plan down for the kiddos!
And I have my first mommy/counselor/supporter meeting for the 4 districts this Monday.

And yesterday turned out pretty good. I met with the PT lady for Danno and mentioned to her that my mom is making some weighted blankets/ theraputic stuffed animals at a reasonable price. The blankets for example run anywhere from $65 for a 2'X2' piece of flannel material with rocks stuffed in it. To $100+ for the same thing in a twin size. It's insane! So, since the materials cost about a fraction of that....she's gonna keep the prices low.

WOW! Hubsters make dinner day!!! I'm loving that idea. But did they have to pick it on "left overs" night? Why couldn't they pick it on Mexican night? Or Asian take out -style night? Where there is a bazillion things to chop?

Nancy...I thought my hubby was the only one like that? LOL a bull in a china shop! And D, my hubby too only does the dishes that "FIT" in the dishwasher...anything above and beyond that sits and waits for me. But he's in there doing something I don't have to do....so I'll take it!

Happy Diwali day everyone!
HUGS! "

" Good day D, and everyone.

Well once again you made me smile, your just so darn funny.

I really love reading your daily column. lol
Thanks, for sharing yourself with us all.

My hubby works, only afternoon and midnight shifts, so if I don't cook, I don't eat. But its chicken noodle soup, once again for me.

Well I hope everyone has a beautiful day.

Gentle hugs, Sherrall "

" Good morning D and everyone, been away for a little while bit it's good to be back.

We went Melbourne last weekend and helped our youngest daughter move from college into her first home down there. Took a great trailer load of her gear with us. Had a heat wave (107*F)here when we got back which combined with the 12 hour return drive plus unloading laid me flat for a while, then my parents came to visit for a couple of days. So very busy for me and been so flat in between haven't even felt like getting on the computer. But starting to get a little energy back now.

Husbands making dinner???? I would know I had stubbled into the wrong house. His version of making dinner is to buy take away, but I figure it's the thought that counts.

Well it's heading for a nice day here today but summer is just around the corner and this weekend is forecast to be another scorcher. Man I hate the heat (the heat we have here anyway).

Glad you're feeling better D and got rid of that nasty cold.

Take care everyone, Hugs "
