Well I jut got back from my first tanning session, and it went great. Boy I enjoyed that so much. It made me feel like my old self for a few min. My foot of course is still really sore, but the lady at the counter said that they have a few clients that come for there psoriasis and it has started to help them with in 2 weeks. How great that would be. Plus I found it so relaxing. The tanning bed was so cool looking, and it even had music piped in there. lol
Hubby said I had a nice glow about me. lol
I just hope this doesn't bring on too many hot flashes. lol Well I guess I could all ways just in crease my hormone cream if I have too.
Will be going back on Monday for my next session.
I drove today, but when things start to get better I am hoping to walk there, its just like 20 min away, and only like a 3 min. drive, so much better then that hour one way, and all the Transite I have to use to get to the clinic.

Now I just have to call the clinic and tell them I am done with there treatment, but I think I may just tell a little white lie, next week, and tell them I am still in too much pain to make the trip, so I have a bit more time to decide if the tanning spa is the right thing for me. And really its not that much of a lie, I am in lots of pain these days.

Thank you all for your support and love, you mean so much for me.

Gentle hugs, Sherrall

" Happy the tanning made you feel better. Hope the lady at the counter was right and this will help your psoriasis ? I do not know enough about psoriasis. But it does sound it was a relaxing experience for you and that would be a plus. I have never been to a tanning booth. I could not lay still that long I don't think and clostrophobic too ... but happy it was a good experience for you.

Take care gentle hugs "

" sometimes we just have to take things into our own hands...when traditional methods don't work...try something else...I am so terrified of tanning beds..how long do you lay in it ? I know a girl who had little bumps all over her chest & back...cleared em right up laying in a tanning bed every other day for 5-10 minutes...I thought that was pretty cool !!

I Sure Hope this works for you !! "

" Thank you Emerald5usa for your reply, I am claustrophobic too, believe it or not. lol But I close my eyes, and you can close it as much as you feel comfortable with.

Yes Dakota, your are right as all ways lol or most of the time. We do need to take control of our own body's and what we need to do, how liberating it is. I am in it for like 10 min. and can control the heat myself, so that is good, will slowly go to 15, but not in a rush to do that. lol One step at a time. I sure hope it will help with the feet and nail, but I too get the bumps all over, but they are not my main issue with my skin at this moment. Plus I am one itchy soul. lol All ways have been, and with fibro, it only makes it worse.

I just love the tanning beds, I just lie there and kind of jiggle with the music. lol So warm and relaxing, but yes I was a little nervous. I use the better beds, then the reg. bed, you really need to because with what type of tanning bed you use, and the place of course.

At the moment I am happy, and smiley, even if I am in pain. So that is a great start.

Will have to take it one day at a time and see how it goes.

Thanks again both of you.

Gentle hugs, Sherrall "

" "Smiles" Sherrall were you saying you can open and close the tanning bed door as often as you like ? When you pay how much time do they allow you for tanning sessions ? Is it expensive ? One thing I can hear is a happiness in your reply and a sense of feeling relaxed which is nice to hear, Taking one day at a time is the best way to handle just about anything. It would be so great if this could heal up your psoriasis. Let me know how this all goes know it is too soon yet to tell.

Take care gentle hugs "

" I'm allergic/sensitive to the sun and tanning beds. I just burn or get blotchy. I do love anything to do with a salon/spa though. :) Be sure to treat yourself to a facial, massage, manicure and pedicure while you are at it! "

" Hi again Emerald5usa, yes when I get on the bed, the top part of it I pull down as far as I like, so yes I can open it up when I want or if I feel the need to. The bed I am using is for sensitive skin, so it has more UVA then UVB bulbs, and there are buttons for me to turn it down some. Which I did. The session is for 15 min, for 25 dollars, but I got a halve off for first time user coupon, and next week I will pay for a year membership for 75 dollars, and that will give me 50% off on any of there beds, the one I used is not the most expensive bed, or the least expensive ether. Right in the middle, they do have a stand up one, but the lady said was too Strong for me, so she didn't need to say any more, beside I don't think I would want to stand for 15 min. straight with out moving or sitting down. If that is how long that is, not really sure. lol or even falling down. lol
I wouldn't want them to close it for me, considering I am all most naked in there. lol

Yes I love the spa's too Carrie, but I use to be an aesthetic so I still give my self facial when I am up to it, I still have all my equipment, I use to do it out of my house, so I am good on that one. I am allergic to, too many creams and stuff so never really like other giving me a facial, and I hate any one touching my feet, but I do love manicures, my sis treats me to one for my birthday every year. All in all, pampering ones self is all ways a good, and healthy thing to do.

Thanks both of you for your reply.

Gentle hugs, Sherrall "

" when I was a teen I used to lay in the tanning bed at my moms salon. I did it for free if I remember cause she worked there and it was a family business. I forgot how warm and toasty it felt. I love the heat it makes me feel sooo good like a huge heating pad :P I live in arizona so we dont really need the tanning beds but we do have them.... seems silly to put the money in when I can get a tan naturally.... but I forgot about the theraputic feeling of being in one :P After baby I may just have to reconcider ;p not to mention I could get a tan in places I dont let the sun shine see like my belly among other places ;p "

" I'm glad this is making you feel better... I'd end up hot flashing so much I would end up having to get in and out standing in front of a fan though. Sounds nice and soothing though. "
