Hello Fibro friends! I could really use your help! It's time for me to find a good Rheumatologist who treats Fibro. I'm to the point now where this Fibromyalgia is killing me and the pain I am experiencing is way more than my Family doctor understands or even knows how to treat. I can hardly walk now and this is not how I planned to spend my golden years! It's time for a specialist.
I'm looking for a good Rheumatologist in the Boston or south of Boston area who will treat Fibromyalgia. Does anyone here know of any good Rheumatoligists in Massachusetts, around Boston or south of Boston area? I would be eternally grateful for any names you can give me. Hugs to you all! Sue PS: The only doctor I could find is currently booked until June ! I can't wait that long. Posted on 10/29/09, 11:10 am |

Here's some regular doctors in Mass. Not sure where these are though and may not be near you. They may be able to recommend a good Rheumy to you.

Hi Mydogpoochie, Sorry I don't have any idea of a Rheumatologist in your area.
I just wanted to say how sorry I am your having such a hard time with it. I know what you mean about finding a rheumy though, I just saw my first rheumy, and after doing tons of test, and still waiting on the MRI, then I see him again, I hope he will be able to shed some light on this, I still don't even know if he treats fibro. I am just hoping he will be able to dx me properly. Which would be great. So keep you head up, and push forward. We all deserve to be pain free, and be able to move. Maybe you Dr. can refer you to one, in your area? That's how I found the one I am seeing. He is in her medical building. Or maybe try your phone book? Sorry I can not be of more help. Take care, sending positive thoughts your way. Gentle hugs, Sherrall

If I were You..I would Look into seeing an Internist, or a Neurologist...as a matter of fact, I would get these referrals and NOT even bring up Fibromyalgia at your Appointment...Just write down each Symptom, Head to toe...how often & Debilitating each Symptom is...go from there...I seen a Rhuemy...she certainly gave me No Help or Hope...just meds that Floored me..she did not even run any Blood tests...I thought was a tad ODD..
GL to you !!

I posted a link to an AWESOME resource for fibro/CFIDS patients, pretty sure it's www.masscfids.org but may want to search my posts to make sure! They're based in MA and do physician referrals as a volunteer service, along with much good info on the site. They have a database of doc's made up from info from patients who have actually seen the docs & received good care, all types of docs from traditional to easter to holistic, and also said the co-cure site is a great one. Good luck!
