About how long does it take for this drug to kick in? I've been on it over two weeks and don't really notice anything. I am in an intense four month flare that literally sent me to hospital for ten days and crippled me.. I am really desperate to even walk normally (without a walker) again... I pray this drug puts this horrible disease back in "remission" where I think it has been most of my life.. The pain is just awful.. and nothing relieves it, mostly in my KNEES , do other people have horrific knee pain? It is like someone is taking a hammer and spike and hammering it into my knees... arrghhh. thanks all!

As someone said, make sure they checked you for rheumatoid arthritis, or lupus, check your "sed rate" which is a sign of inflammation, and there is a lupus test that would be positive. Just in case the prednisone did not cause a rebound autoimmune reacton, because it suppresses your immune system when on it. You might want to ask for those blood tests, and even an MRI on your knees to look for inflammatory arthritis flare. Usually prednisone would not help fibromyalgia at all, but could cause other wierd sx , mood changes, and wt gain, and affects the adrenals, but you are having an unusual reaction so they need to really check those knees. raindrop
