" norco 10/325 has more hidrocodone than vicodin
7.25 . for chronic use it is much easier on the liver because of the lower acet.
but you are correct that hydrocodone(howeverthehell you spell that)is not an anti-inflamatory. "

" agree with #2.asked hubby(broke back in car accident so has been on different meds over the years)and he said that norco has 2.5?more codiene and one half acetamenophrine-not 100%sure but hope this helps. also lower dose in acetame..will not help inflammation as much-maybe want to call pharmacist as i wouldn't want to mislead. hugs, noreen "

" Huh? I thought Norco, Hydrocodone and Vicodin were all the same thing? I am currently on Hydro 7.5. It is 7.5 mg of codeine and 325 mg of acetaminophen. The Acetaminophen does SQUAT for my pain. It is really the codeine that helps. "

" They all are the same thing - it's the change in dosage that's in question. Eeyow is correct that Norco 10/325 has more of the narcotic and less of the acetaminophen (thats the word I have trouble spelling LOL) "

" I'm on that strength of Norco. It is basically the same as Vicodin only it has more aspirin in it to protect your liver. At least that is what I understood my doc was telling me. "

" you need to check with the pharm to make sure you can take "tylenol" with the vicodin. depends on which kind you got. some have tylenol and others have ibupropen. ibuprofen is an anti-flammatory but i don't think acetimenophen is...not sure about that.......the acetimenophen part. maybe the "phen"part is? lol
i take ibuprophen for anti-flammatory and if the pain is really bad, a darvocet or vicodin (generic). "

" Hi Paula,

Good, I am glad you got the Norco. The norco is stronger. The less tylenol the smaller the pill. The norco has 10mg hydrocodone, the vicodin es has 7.5mg hydrocodone. There is less tylenol. If you like it,, you can take some motrin with it, or a little tylenol. Just stay under 4 gms per day. Love Carla ps I take oxycodone, a tiny tiny little pill, with no tylenol in it at all. And no long acting right nowl I may ask for the fentanl. Love Raindrop "

" Ok, I will explain. Peace was right. Norco , Lortab, Vicodin are all names for drugs with Hydrocodone, NOT CODEINE. Codeine is a weaker narcotic. Also there is LESS acetaminophen in NORCO, (325mg) compared to 500mg or 750mg, and that is the same as tylenol, it is not aspirin, or motrin. Now if you took Vicoprofen, that is Vicodin (hydrocodone) + ibuprofen, which is motrin, not tylenol. They are just different names, and have different strengths, but hydrocodone is much stronger than codeine. And acetaminophen does not work on inflammation, so you can take some motrin or alternate with it. You will get used to it and like it better than the other, it is stronger. "
