burning pains?

I am experiencing sharp burning pains in all kinds of different locations (none specific). It feels like I'm being burned by a cigarette for about 1 second. There's no time specifically that it does it, or anything there (like a bite or a red mark), nothing. Then it just goes away. Anyone else have this symptom, or is this just another reason to go to the MD AGAIN? Thanks -T

" I get burning pains but when mine are burning it's more widespread, like my whole thigh. But I do get the annoying tiny electrical shock feelings in tiny spots on my body that only last a few seconds.Fibro is confusing. It's hard to say if you should go back to the doctor but I'm newly diagnosed and don't know a lot about it.Hope you feel better soon. " i have alot of problems with burning or inflamation, although it is widespread.sometimes i feel i can feel the inflamation circulating thru my bloodstream-may sound crazy but thats how it feels.i have always associated it as being a major symptom of fibro although it isn't cigarette type burn, more like sunburn. hope that helps, hugs, noreen "

" I have more of what noreen describes-more of an area that burns. Always looking at the area-like there must be redness or abrasion or something for it to hurt so badly. But there never is-and I always feel a little bit crazy-

Blessings,
Angel "

" Yeah, these make me cry out, like I've been burned, so that's a little bit embarrassing too. I just had one in my shoulder. It lasts 2-3 secons, then gone, no mark, nothing. This disease manages to give me new suprises all the time! Thanks for sharing, -T "

" That is pretty severe if they make you cry out, it sounds like electric shocks.. what meds are you taking, anything new? Or did you go off something recently? "

" Hun, I get it too. Usually my feet/ ankle area. But if I don't 'stop' what I'm doing...then it radiates up into my leg further.

The sharp sudden stuff usually stay to my feet area....but my back also will do this.

If anything.....try to journal it. LOL, I sometimes just shout stuff out to my hubster and have him keep track of it. (he's a good journal).
Then you'll know if it's something your doing....or if it is Fibro...or something else.

My understanding is that this is nerve related.

I hope it goes away for you hun! "

" I haven't started or stopped any meds during the time that this has been happening, although I do take several different meds. I've been taking all of them for some time, like at least a year.
Guess it's time to call the old MD afterall! -T "
