I hate having dry mouth.

Are you noticing any weight gain Peace?
That affects all ways concerns me when trying some thing new. In the last 9 years, I have gained 70 lbs from medications, and I am just now starting to lose the weight, but I don't take any thing ether now, and can't eat sugar or junk food any more. That is so sad. lol

I am all so afraid of trying new medication. I have had so many probables in the past, it makes me so nervous. So I kind of understand how you feel Trish.

Hi Sue. Congratulations on beginning Savella. I had the dry mouth, too. It gets a little better in time, but I will admit that I still have it to some slight degree. It lessens as time moves on though....
I hope that dry mouth is your only side effect! BTW, I drink lots of water before going to bed now. It helps!
In my case, other side effects included nausea when the full dose began, but by 5 weeks into the drug that disappeared, thank goodness. Now, I feel great.
Believe me, if this drug works as great for you as it has for me, you will wonder why everyone hasn't tried it! It has changed my life and I pray it works as well for you! Best of luck!

If the dryness continues, perhaps you might sleep with a humidifier. ??? Just a thought.

Happy 4th of July

New to your group. I started Savella May 29, 2009. I am so glad I took my doctors advice and tried one more thing. Could hardly keep my eyes open the day in his office when he wanted me to try the latest Fibromyalgia pill. I am also chemical sensitive as is Foxy Lady. I took only half the dosage until I felt ok enough to go to the next strength. Went on full strength June 22. No nausea. I knew there might be nausea and i am was not wanting to spend days eating saltines and ginger and feeling pregnant. I eat healthy so I don't keep chips in my home. Went and bought Scoops and my favorite salsa mixed with a little cream cheese. I did not gain weight. I have lost about 4 pounds and wil lose more when I get back on my old work out program. Only problem...is that on some days I feel so great and i keep going and going and end up crashing for a day. But it has just been a DAY< and that was yesterday and today I am up and about and even feeling like writing to all of you. It used to be days maybe weeks. This week I cleaned out a major closet and set up my garage to sell a bunch of stuff that I have been trying to do for last five years. I am not one to get on a chat group...but I am one who wants to reach out to others when I can maybe help someone else get past years of aches and pains and being coming less than what you or use to being. I am presently setting up an area to do my art work. Haven't painted in 15 years. I think my hands can handle it. About the dry mouth. Go get some Vit. C lozengers or something to suck on. It gets better. But I always make sure I have some in my pocket. Chug the water. It helps and I think it also helps with weight. Enough for now. I am going to start a journal Of my up and down days. The down days are about only one or two days a week . But the up days ...i can do so much more than I have in years. The doctor says it will take 6 to 8 weeks to get full effect. That should take me to about August 22. Looking forward to future now.

I wish you much success and hopefully the dry mouth will clear up for you soon. Maybe ask your doctor or pharmacist if they have any ideas to make this less problematic.

I can not take savella because it falls into a class of medications I can not take.
