Need a doctor

I've had it with my doctor! He won't give me anything for my pain. Not a month's worth...a week's worth, until the Lyrica I'm just starting begins (hopefully) to help. Any suggestions on how to find a good doctor, or does anyone here happen to be from the RI/southeastern MA area that has a doctor they like? Hopefully as the Lyrica kicks in, I won't NEED anything for pain so much, but it is really ticking me off that this guy can be so completely insensitive.

What's he afraid of? I've had controlled substances at my disposal for anxiety for 10 years and take them less than once a month. Addicts figure out a way to get painkillers, but those of us who are legitimately suffering and just want to use them as truly needed have to go on suffering.

" Amazingly, the Lyrica has greatly reduced my pain already, I think because it has me so doped up that I can't really feel ANYTHING! This sounds awful...but I am bipolar and before I was stabilized, I had a few suicide attempts. I feel exactly like I am waking up from an overdose. The stuff effects me way more than any narcotic or sedative I've ever had. But it is so nice not to have the gnawing pain, I am going to keep at it, at least while I'm on temporary disability, and hope the side effects wear off. At least my mind hasn't been affected so much. "
