I am on day 7 today and on the advice of other group members, I don't take it on an empty stomach. It seems to be working a bit. My legs and arms haven't been hurting, but my neck/shoulders/hip still do. Good luck with it!

Now into my second pack-definitely feeling more upbeat and less exhausted. I had an appt w/my rheumy yesterday and she was quite surprised and pleased that I had started the Savella-even offered me a prescription, but I told her my PCP had written me one.

I also found out why my pain hasn't been alleviated by the Savella-apparently I also have arthritis in my lower spine. So overall, I would just say that Savella has been a real plus for me.

Now if we could just get some sunshine-

I am on day 9 of the Savella introductory pac. My PCP took me off of the Cymbalta too quickly & I had severe withdrawalsymptoms. I asked my PCP to put me back on a low dosage of the Cymbalta until I have reached the 100 mg on the Savella. Thank goodness he did! My Serotonin must have dropped to the bottom. Now that I am back on Cymbalta & gradually increasing the Savella, I feel much, much better. What pain med are those who have started the Savella now taking? I read that you are not supposed to take Ultram because it could cause Serotonin Syndrome which can be life threatening. My PCP prescribed Ultram & I am afraid to take it with the Savella. Anyone out there know anything about this? Gentle Hugs to all that are beginning this new drug. Let's all pray that it offers us the relief from this unrelenting pain from which we suffer.

Ok, I have had my starter pack for a week now and have not had enough nerve to take it. I am going on Vacation July 11th and don't want the possible side effects to mess it up. So I will wait till I come home.

I will be watching all of YOUR progress so I won't be such a chicken.

I talked to the doc and he said if I wanted to I could actually do the starter pack even slower if I wanted to, I will base what I do on y'alls reactions.
