Hey, Ames....I've been on Relafen for about two months....works pretty well most days, and I can definitely tell when I skip a dose.

It's a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory....I take it in place of Mobic....seems to work a bit better for me on really painful days :)

Thanks! I can't take any NSAIDs except for the Cox2 inhibitors due to extreme sensitivity. On the third day I'm doubled over in pain. Before you ask, yes I take them with food - and I'm still doubled over in pain. I think I could eat a whole cow and it would still be eating the hide right off of my stomach.

I got an ulcer after three days, and after three days on Naproxen, my son had an ulcer that bled so severely that he needed two units of blood to prevent organ shutdown.

So...no NSAIDs by order of my PCP...not ever. Family predisposition to severe side effects. I took Vioxx before it was taken off the market - tried Celebrex and I may as well have been taking sugar pills - Mobic isn't Vioxx but I can tell if I don't take it.

So, it's tomorrow - how are you feeling Ames?
