Zanaflex vs Flexeril?

Hi,
Has anyone tried both of these drugs?
I'm taking Flexeril now...and I thought one of these two, when I took it long ago, made me crash to sleep very hard within about 30 minutes of taking it. Flexeril isn't doing that, so I am wondering if it was Zanaflex then.
Trying to figure out if I should ask my doctor to permanently replace Skelaxin with one of these two instead.
Anyone got ideas? I know each body is so different I may not get my question answered, but it doesn't hurt to try, right?

" Flexeril does absolutly nothing for me. I have a script but I didn't fill it. My next appt for my PMD is next week so I'm going to bring the script back and see if I can have something else. "

" Flexeril knocks me out cold for like 14 hours straight. even taking just half of a 10 mg. It also makes me feel very drugged and hungover the next day.

Zanaflex on the other hand I take 4 mg every 8 hrs and it works very well without making me groggy and worn down. Im able to function while taking it and can drive etc. "

" I'm on Zanaflex now. I've taken Flexeril in the past and might as well have been popping M&Ms. The Zanaflex works very well, but my doc insists on the name brand, he doesn't think the generic is up to snuff. "

" Hi!

I'm on Zanaflex....and it' knocks me out. But I'm also a light drunk and it doesn't take much for me to get knocked out.

I also wake up groggy from it and I'm groggy till about 2pm in the afternoon. I'm only take 4mg capsules so far. "

" I have them both. Zanaflex does put me to sleep but it gives me a hangover the next day. The other one does nothing for me. I can only take them on the weekend so I dont have to go to work with a hangover. I would try zanaflex and see how it does. I also have norflex, which doesnt do much to me. Good luck. "

" I have only taken Flexeril. My Dr. reduced my dose recently from 90 mcg a night to 60 mcg a night because I was so sleepy during the day, but my leg pain came back with a vengeance. I didn't realize how much it was helping my leg pain-I had no leg pain on 90 mcg a night. I can drink coffee or pop easier than I can fix the leg pain

Hope this if helpful.

" I have taken both Zanaflex and Flexeril. Neither have worked that well for me. Zanaflex put me out like a light, but I was awake again in about 45 minutes. Also, I was told by my pharmacist to be careful with the Zanaflex if I'm on birth control as it interacts with it and makes it less effective...not a big deal for me, but I thought I'd just share that piece of information.
