I was wondering how much was rxed to you?

How many mg do you use?

How many times per day??

How does it make you feel? Side effects?

Do you feel better on it, pain/muscle wise?

Feedback on this drug will be very much appreciated.

Thank you

Hugs

" I take 350 mg three time a day. At this point I haven't noticed any differance. But they have me on it right now for a torn tendon in my right shoulder. I even take it at bed time with my ambian and I still don't notice anything as I am still not sleeping due to the pain in the shoulder. But I know everyone is differant. My baby sister can be knocked out with a baby asprin. "

" Hey Jaded, here is some info on the sleepy effect of the soma...If you click on the word Soma, in gren it will take you to another page, go to the top of that page and click there, for more info at wykepedia. It will take you to the whole article on Soma.

Heres what I got for you!

Carisoprodol(Soma) seems to be more effective as a muscle relaxant than meprobamate but it also has the side effects of the latter drug (trade name Miltown) which is a related non-barbiturate and non-benzodiazepine sedative-hypnotic which has been largely replaced by Carisoprodol.

Both carisoprodol and meprobamate can produce a glutethimide-like euphoria in certain dose ranges; a euphoriant dose of either drug will also rapidly produce somnolence and the patient can be in a deep sleep shortly after euphoria, anxiolysis, ataxia and other side effects manifest. However, the usual dose of 350 mg is unlikely to engender prominent side effects.

At higher doses, in some patients, and/or early in therapy, carisoprodol (Soma) can have the full spectrum of sedative-hypnotic side effects (and often to an extent to which the patient may not be fully aware) and can dangerously impair the patient's ability to operate a firearm, automobile, motorcycle, and other machinery of various types; slurred speech is also a side effect which manifests rather rapidly.

The intensity of the side effects of carisoprodol (Soma)tends to lessen and/or become very predictable as therapy continues, as is the case with many other drugs. "

" I sometimes take soma, when my muscles are really tight. But recently, I had a bug with chills so bad that I clutched myself so tightly trying to get warm, my muscles are still sore from that night (this past Monday), and Soma did nothing to make it any better. :/ Otherwise, sometimes it helps, sometimes it doesn't. " Right before I had my rotator cuff rebuild I was taking soma and hydrocodone. I have to say I actually LOVED it. Too much, if you know what I mean. Also, When I took the soma, it would make me feel starved! Stomach growling and all. No longer taking either of these meds. Soma also made me feel relaxed and tired. "

" Jaded I take 350mg at bedtime and for me it works wonders. Being one of those light weights it knocks me out pretty well and if I take it early enough I can tell it works to relax the muscles. The pain around the knots in my back and tightness in my legs and arms virtually dissapear for a time. I don't know if this is the pill giving me cotton mouth but, ugh, I can't get enough water.
Hugs
Amy "
