What kind of Beds?

I wake up with my shoulders hurting all the time. Sometimes I can't move in the morning because of this. I was wondering if people ever bought one of those so called special pedicatric beds and sleep number beds and if it was worth the money. I am always interested in those kind of beds but they are sooo expensive. I wish the insurance would cover some if it due to pain. Wouldn't it be nice? so if you got one, is it worth it? I am just so sore getting up in the mornings, even with my muscle relaxor - i am only taken them at n ight, but I am almost ready to ask him to take it during the day because it is helping so much better... I am taken less percocet because of it! None at night right now! much better progress!

I tried all sorts of mattresses before settling on the one I have now. Though I believe we could sleep on a cloud and still ache. Fibro could be called the princess and the pea syndrome.
Even with the thickest cushiest pillow top any mattress with innerspring is no good. I had tried something similar to the sleep number bed and didnt care for it at all. felt as though I were sleeping on plastic even with the pillow top and no matter how soft the setting it was uncomfortable. And also felt like sleeping in a sauna. Didnt seem to really conform to my body. I tried memory foam but found I sank too deep that by the middle of the night Id made a big dent in the bed. I tried another more quality version and had an allergic reaction. What I settled on was a latex mattress with a firm base and a softer top. It conforms to your body but is still firm enough to offer support (too soft does not help with morning stiffness or back pain) It seems to regulate body temp a bit better. Does not build up dust mites like traditional mattresses. Doesnt didnt to be flipped. Is long lasting quality. Seems best value and comfort from my experience. I also heard about Cuddle Ewe (wool mattress topper) being good for fibromyalgia but as of yet its too expensive for me to try it out. Got my bed on a payment plan from a reputable store. Best to invest in something good and be sure there is a proper return policy so you have a chance to try it out. I also find beneficial for Fibro is having an adjustable bed. Its an expense but worth it. But all in all no mattress will be perfect.

We Just bought a Good Firm bed...with a Pillow Top...I need the Firmness as I am a belly sleeper...
we Tried the memory Foam one...but I Noticed right away that when you simply want to roll over...you have to push urself UP out of the Hole that is Under you...that Fully woke us up each time ya went ro readjust...so that bed got taken back...the sleep number bed is real good from what I hear...neither one of us needed to go quite that fancy, as we both like a firm mattress...

I have tried everything. The best solution I've come up with is a camping air mattress on top of box spring. Air (hardness) can be adjusted at anytime. I can't sleep on anything else!

I've had 3 beds in the last 2 years. We paid $1500. Cdn for our first bed. It was a pillow top, memory foam, fleece topper and for 6 months was heaven. Then, it started to have a manufacturer's defect. The buttons weren't all the way down to the bottom, so the memory foam was coming out the sides and sagging in the middle. I was so sad. LOL
We got a replacement. It horrible and I lasted a week. No pillow top, no fleece and hard as rock. I said I don't think so! We then got a third replacement. More like the first but this time, the buttons go all the way down to the bottom. The problem now is that my shoulder gets caught in the "dimple" and I wake up with major shoulder pain. I hope to get a cheap piece of foam or the sheepskin cover so my shoulder doesn't do that. I found a wonderful pillow that was made out of 100% memory foam. My goodness it was so squishy and soft. I may splurge on it but it's $129. for 1 pillow! iye, yiye, yiye!!!

We had a booth at the state fair in October, and the Sleep Number people were right behind us so we had to try it out just to see what it was like. We both loved it, and at around $2000 for a king, it was no more expensive than the mattress we have, and we paid that much for it nearly 10 years ago.
I still prefer the memory foam though and now that Jon's lost 115 lbs we might be able to go that route. When he was so heavy it wouldn't have worked well - it IS only foam even though special foam - but he is still losing weight and in another year we might be able to get the TempurPedic that I really want.

My mom bought me a cuddle ewe. I have a king bed and got the twin one since my hubby didn't need one. It did help me in the winter with me being so cold it regulated my temperature better but I don't even use it anymore. My son has it on his bed. I do have a foam/feather topper for my bed that I bought at Costco and absolutely love it. We needed a new bed it was getting very uncomfortable and bought that and it is great. Worth the money.

I have a bed that massages, tilts your head, feet orboth and also has wave motions. I love it and sleep like a rock.
