I am sorry this has happened to you. It is very sad that not everyone on this site is a nice person, but it is true. It is a sad thing whenever this happens, and yes it has happened a lot in the past to others. I usually, only keep a page or two of hugs at any one time, and I often delete my hugs after I have read and responded to them.

I'd also like to add that hugs shouldn't be given to someone to spite or talk about someone else. we can use personal messages for that kind of kerap! LOL

my I must have alot!!! lol.. ya if you have something personally to say.. should be done in pm.. I dont have the energy to delete all mine. lol.. and i dont read anyone else's hugs to begin with.. sorry someone read yours.. and no hugs arent private.. sad someone would do that.. sigh.. man i got too much pain to even read everyone hugs..

You ask the Trillion Dollar question. There are many theories on the answer to this one, but the theory that I think applies most often is that some people can only feel good about themselves if they hurt or put down another person.
At least that is what I think the answer to your question is.

I didn't think hugs were private. It's sad but some people do use this to send nasty comments. I know one person who started a post because of the comment they recieved in a hug and asked people to read it and for their responses. I've had some friends pm about some hugs or even pms that they get and either ask me to read the hug or send me a copy of the pm because they maybe confused by what was written.

This is an open forum for the most part people our great.

We do get people that read our profiles our journals our hug book, and our discussions with the purpose of trying to sell things, upset us, some even ask you to email them out side of DS.

The ones that ask you to email them outside of DS people should becareful of because this is a way People get your email and send a lot of spam or try to hack into your computer.

I do read other peoples hug books for several reasons.

I want to give them a hug but at the time my mind maynot be working so I look at what others have said to think about how I want to phrase something.

sometimes it gives me a better understanding of what the person who received it is going thru or what the person who sent it is going thru. I've sent out additional hugs because I see someone else is hurting too.

sometimes I read them when I go to send a hug because they are right there in front of me.
