That sucks, MB! I'm sorry that you have to go thru this. I hope it gets better soon.

You will have to make adjustments. I would like to work four days a week. But of course, I don't make the kind of money you do. Thinks will work out.

I DO MAKE GOOD MONEY SO IT SEEMS ROTTEN TO COMPLAIN...BUT YOU GET USED TO WHAT YOU MAKE...AND I ALSO SUPPORT NINE PEOPLE LIVING IN MY HOUSE.....THEY HELP SOME AND HUBBY WORKS BUT...NEVER IN MY WILDEST DREAMS DID I EVER EVEN THINK THEY WOULD LAY ME OFF.

That is awful! I am sorry you are having to go thru that crap! Companies have no comapssion or cares. They just want to say a buck at anyones expense. I will say a prayer for you

They are talking about doing that here also. They are also talking abut schools doing the same since gas is to high

At least you still have your job with good pay, alot dont. Alot got laid off and no job at all or pay.

At least you have your health insurance, alot dont have any insurance at all.

At least you have been there long enough to retire in a couple years if not sooner, alot dont.

Be thankful for what you have. You will just have to learn to live without some of the luxuries you have now.

I know I sound rough and uncaring, I am not, just trying to let you know how good you really have it compared to alot of people.

Do you have an industrial union you could approach for help? When that sort of thing happens here, you are entitled to be paid at your original hours for a certain period of time, in your case 4-5 weeks. Plus, if you do get laid off you get paid out at your contracted rate of employment.
Are they writing everyone new contracts???
It sucks how employees get treated.
It shouldn't matter how much you earn - you work hard for your money and you budget accordingly - for the company to make changes without discussion with the unions and/or staff is just plain wrong.

boy companies can really do what they want... and not care bout the ppl who work for them.. you and all your other employees are the heart of this company.. think its terrible what they do to ppl.. supporting 9 ppl must be very hard.. its just me and my hubby and we have a hard time.. with me not working.. try to stay strong hun.. hug to you.. :)

I found being taken by surprise after stretching every dollar can be one great big STRESSOR. I'm sorry you are having to go through this. My middle management position was eliminated in a budget cut after 22 years service, with no notice. Luckily I was able to negotiate a six month severage package if I agreed not to grieve the termination. I worked for a State Univesity and had the experience to find another fulltime position. All this was before my dx and disability with fibro and lupus. It doesn't matter how much you make, or your position, it is emotionally traumatic to deal with the changes, especially when the stress may trigger a flare for you. My best defense was no defense, I held my head high, said my good byes, and maintained a very positive attitude until I found employment. You will work through these feelings and then take a look at all your alternatives and make a choice, with a smile, as it is still your choice.

I know it stinks but at least you are working a lot of us can' t and disability $ sucks even more I agree with DDntn count your blessings I wish I could still work not meaning to be rotten just jealous!
