I was under the impression that tramadol is the generic form of ultram.

Tramadol is the generic for Ultram. I think I'd find another doctor :)

I googled Tramadol and it has Tylenol in it

I found information at Wikipedia (although there are a lot of other sites) and it looks like maybe the form with tylenol is a British fomulation, as it refers to it as paracetamol rather than acetaminophen. They are the same maybe you have different strengths like a long acting and one for breakthrough pain ask your Doc or Pharmacist they will know, hugs good luck.

huh... ty everyone.. good lord.. i have been taking this for 2 years now. wouldnt it effect the liver?? with the tylenol in it?? i know alot ppl are on it.. thanks alot... appreciate it.. hugs.:)

The info I found seemed (although it was not completely clear) to indicate that the formulation that includes tylenol is a different strength from the "straight" Tramadol but I'm not sure about that.

I think it said it was 37.5 mgs with tylenol and I know the usual dosage is 50 mgs.

It's kinda disturbing when we get better information here than from our doctors, but I guess that's why we're here!

i was wondering bout that.. you would think they would be doing liver test then if there is tylenol in this tramadol. there are soo many warning on the tylenol bottle .. rather concerns me now... i see the doc on tues.. and im going to bring this up... sigh..thanks all .. :)

just make sure to get liver enzimes checked about every three months.my rumy did mine every three .ggmonths

Be careful not to take Tramadol with Effexor it has a drug interaction. I know it happened to me. I thought I was going to die.
