Hey guys.
My doc gave me a new pain killer called Darvocet. I have heard of it but have never taken it. I usually take Hydrocodone 5/500. It is kind of a russian roullette game with it. Some times it helps, sometimes it makes me sicker, sometimes it does nada. Have any of you taken Darvocet? Does it work? Doc says since I have one kidney ( donated other to my dad) that it will not hurt the kidney. But it passes through the liver. WAIT! I only have one of those ! DOH. I have used Darvocet a few times before but not for this. If your worried about your liver there is a Natural pill that I take that detoxes your liver and I take it once a day in the morning.

FROM THE AGE OF 26 TILL 2000 I AM NOW 53, I TOOK DARVOCET. IT HELPED UNTIL THE PAIN GOT WORSE. IT GOT WORSE AFTER I STARTED WORKING AS A CNA DOWN HERE IN NC. STARTED IN 2000, BUT FOR ABOUT MAYBE THREE YEARS I LIVED ON TONS OF ADVIL AND ZANTAC.
THEN 2005 STARTED HUNTING FOR DRS. DIDN'T FIND A DECENT ONE TILL I MOVED OUT HERE TO SALISBURY NC. FOUND HIM IN LEXINGTON WHICH IS ABOUT 20 MINUTES AWAY. TRISH

I take 6 a day, I do have break through pain,on my worst days. Then I take Hydrocodone.
I have taken darvocet at 6 a day for 6 years. I have used it for migranes for 20. DD

UNFORTUNATELY YOU WILL FIND THE DARVOCET IS NOT AS STRONG AS THE VICODIN. HOPEFULLY IT WILL WORK FOR YOU. I THINK WE ALL HAVE TO CHANGES PILLS BECAUSE OUR SYSTEMS GET USED TO ONE KIND. HUGS

Darvocet is one of the lowest dose opiods. I took them when I was first diagnosed and they really didn't do much for pain. But they did make me forgetful, really messed up my brain - stopped taking them and was given codine.
