" I take darvocet only when it is super bad. I take 2 flexeril (muscle relaxants) at bedtime. A nice hot bath with Epsom salts helps alot if you are just really achy. I am lucky, I guess as I have way more fatigue than I do the pain. Hope this helps some! "

" At bed, I take 2 flexeril as well. I take Ibuprofen for normal pain. When the pain gets bad, I take Hydrocodone; however, I think I'm developing a tolerance to that. (It also makes me itch a little.) I need to talk to my dr at my next appt about trying something new.
Soaking in the hot bath helps as well. "

" I take Vicadan...I too was taking percocet and felt like I might of been getting an allergic reaction...even though I have been on/off it forever. I was having trouble breathing and itching a little. The vicadan doesn't make me as loopy...FYI nothing is going to take away the pain completely...it's just a bandaid to help take the edge off... Good Luck! "

" THAT IS DEFINETLY A ALLERGIC REACTION, SOMETIMES IT CAN COME ON ALL AT ONCE, I AM ALLERGIC TO CODEINE, IT MAKES ME ITCH BUT MOST OF THE TIME IT PUTS ME IN SEVERE ABDOMINAL PAIN WHEN I TAKE IT. "

" I don't take narcotics, by choice. I do take lyrica, meloxicam and amytriptyline. I usually max out on daily ES Tylenol. I'm not sure if the meloxicam really makes a difference. The lyrica definitely decreases the intensity of the pain and amytriptyline helps me at least fall asleep. "

" I take one flex and one Rozerem at night and that usually gets me completely through the next day. I have found self massage to also be an immediate reliever. I push and push until I find that one point that is more tender than the rest and massage it. It seems to make the other muscles relax a bit and relieves some of the pain and achiness. My doctor said working out would also help alleviate a lot of it but I recently had surgery and haven't been cleared to exercise yet. "

" Although, the pain is excruciating at times I don't take the narcotics, because they are known to have serious withdrawal problems, and you can't stay on them indefinately. I heard that the withdrawal pains can be pretty intense, even for those with Fibro whom had a high tolerance to experiencing body pain. Ask your doctor, and find a holistic or natural product that is used to prevent or help with nerve pain. Although the pain isn't totally relieved you might notice more good days than bad! "

" Dresmom mentioned pulling and learning to massage yourself. A few years ago, I couldn't get out of bed without having severe pain and basically had an excerbation that lasted for what felt like an eternity. I am still recovering, but I am working again for 20hrs and at least from home AND I am not using a walker as my doctors told me I would be. During my excerbation a friend encouraged me start doing very light YOGA. Naturally, it was discouraging at first because I could not bend or reach any where. Briefly it started like this:(BTW-Never stretch beyond your comfort level/range of fibro motion)I couldn't get out of bed without severe pain, I began moving my swollen ankles left, right, down,up (over and over again, sang a little tune-Ya Know) Next I began walking my legs up till my kness were raised slight from the mattress (over and over again everyday)Then, I started the popular yoga move of letting my knees down slightly to either side just allowing my legs to lean on each side for a little while.....and so forth. This is what the beginnings of getting better were for me. Eventually, my stiff, achy, ridgid ankles were a little less rigid, they hurt but they could move!!!! Eventually, I was able to get out of the bed and by that time my feet were ready for me to stand!!!:-) Thank God, and TY if you read this long story shorter. I have the names of natural herbal remedies that are worth trying they all work different. Promise to get the names and post them later today!!!! Take care, everyone.
Still Trying, C "
