Awhile back I read a brief blurb on the Mayo Clinic website about the difference between FM and PR. The doc said if someone with widespread pain and fatigue improves with prednisone and methotrexate, it is probably PR and not FM. I am confident in my initial FM diagnosis, and think the PR developed later. Nevertheless, thought this might help someone else.

polymyalgia rheumatica can be dangerous if it affect the blood vessels in the brain..it has the same symptoms as fm
