Hi all:

Has anyone tried acupuncture for their fibro. My exhaustion level is pretty bad, and I'm looking for anything that might help.

Anyone?

Thanks!

" I Ohno, yes I have accupuncture for exhaustion and find it brilliant.

The problem with it is that it is hard to find a truly qualified accupuncturist.

Here's how you know if it is working - when he turns the needles you should feel a pulse of energy which feels sort of like a electrical charge (doesn't hurt but feels weird) run down your leg or arm or whatever part he is needling.

If you don't feel this, chances are, your accupuncturist doesn't know what they are doing.

This I know because I've had accupuncture from both types. -)

It works wonderfully on exhaustion levels for about a week - is truly amazing.

Unfortunately I can't afford to get it done regularly but I get it when my levels are at their worst - sort of like recharging my batteries :-)

Good Luck :-) "

" Just started my second treatment. No change after first one, very slight change for the better after 2nd. My acupuncturist said it could take 4 to 6 treatments. "

" Carrien, did you read my post? (at the top)
You should feel great after the first every session - EVERY session should leave you feeling energised.
Did you feel that electrical charge I spoke about? If not get another accupuncturists - there are too many fake practitioners our there. "

" snork, my problem was that I had to work too much and was stressed out about a couple of snow days.

My first day was supposed to be a consult only but I told them if I don't get treatment, I was leaving. She started me out with 7 needles and worked up to 11. I did feel the charges and had a spasm so bad I nearly kicked her! LOL It felt like when the doctor takes that little hammer thing and taps your knee. "

" I tried this a few years ago, it hurt like mad, wow, major pain during the procedure, or whatever u wanna call it.

However ive been told the doc that did the accupuncture had no clue what he was doing. My massage therapist also does accupuncture and has asked me to consider trying it again. She has gone into depth with me as to how it works and what it does, she said if done right it should put u to sleep so after i get the tens unit i may try it. but, wow the pain it caused, id rather give birth again than go thru that pain!!

I have heard from alot of people with fibro that it does help and my massage therapist's sister has fibro,, she does accupuncture on her and it helps her pain.

Let me know if you do this and how you do,, if you do this i hope it helps. "
