Has anyone been rx this for fibromyalgiia if so - how did it help, I have tried to findout more information on it for fibro but there doesnt seem to be very much, except to say that it is a muscle relaxant, but so is diazapam ( valium) what is the difference. What side effects suffered. Don't know if its worth asking doc for Rx for it.

" Flexeril is for muscle spasms and cramping muscles mostly. Used for a lot of back pain conditions,it is nowhere as addictive as Valium. It does come with the warning do not drive or operate heavy equipment until you find out how this drug reacts on you or something like that. it can cause drowsiness. Did you look up top under treatments and type it in? "

" I was on Flexeril for years due to back issues and eventually didn't have the effect it once did as many meds eventually you build tolerance.

Then went I went to my neuro he took me off them said they weren't worth anything to take so I went with him. I know they kicked my butt at first but figured he knew better and well like I said also they had stopped working anyway really.

So not sure about worth asking...never heard of it for fibro but may be for what comes along with some of it....as for the valium...that is a benzo....lots of people are on benzo's.....same family as xanax...klonopin....ativan...all the anxiety drugs....I would talk to him and see what he has to say.....

Hope you find something that helps!! "

" Hey Vonny:

I've been taking the generic of flexeril for years...it basically is one of 2 meds that helps me sleep - I don't think I would be able to sleep at all without these meds knocking me out. I also use it if I am having unusually severe muscle spasms.

The other thing that is good about this medication is that it is on the Target (and Walmart) $4.00 plan, which is good for the budget.

Blessings,
Jan "

" I started taking 1 Robaxacet at night and a half in the morning (when I'm not working). It's along the same lines as Flexeril as it's a muscle relaxer. So far, I feel like my muscles have started to unwind and I'm feeling a little better. I would imagine that Flexeril would do that too and worth a try. "
