Hello..Hello
I was wondering if anyone is taking Norttriptyline and if soo... What are your major side effects?? I have only been on it for about two weeks and need to increse my dose now. Im wondering mainly aabout mood and weight gain!! Please help!! Thanks A bunch!! Tara Posted on 02/02/08, 12:02 pm |

Yes, I have taken this med and couldn't tolerate it. It dropped my blood pressure and made me feel like I was walking aournd with a hangover. It also causes weight gain and carb cravings, very hard to keep your weight down when you can't keep your hands out of the cookie jar!

I've never taken this med but is it working well for you. If so, you may not have the same side affects as someone else does because meds affect all of us in different ways. So give it a chance if it's working for you. Talk to your doctor about your concerns. Love and Hugs, Debbie

I took nortriptyline for years with no problems. It did really help the neuropathies for quite a while. Then they switched me to neurontin because the nortriptyline stopped working as well. I did gain weight but not so much that I would not take it because of that.

I am on it but refuse to take it due to the hungover feeling I get when I wake after using it. I dont sleep hardly at all but would rather be that way then on the nort
