July 6, 2012 Good Morning
Yesterday was a bad day for me. I had errands to run and a migraine from hell. I finally ended up at 2PM, shaking, nauseaus, and strange eye sight. So off to bed I went for a few hours and awoke feeling better. Then I slept well, so it was all good. Today, I have domestic goddess chores to do and a few errands to run, and of course, I am planning my next nap lol I hope you find 100 reasons to smile today -------------------------- DAILY CHUCKLE -John Paul Jones was born on this day in 1747. John Paul is the guy who said, "I have not yet begun to fight." He's the only guy in history who became famous for not yet beginning to fight. It was also John Paul who said, "Don't give up the ship." He didn't, he sold it --July is Nude Recreation Month, but be careful. You don't know what real sunburn pain is until you French-fry your nipples ---Louis Pasteur gave the first anti-rabies shot to a young boy on this day in 1885. I wonder if the boy then had to undergo a mad dog bite to see if it worked. ----On this day in 1535 King Henry the 8th had Sir Thomas More beheaded because Sir Thomas refused to sanction Henry's marriage. Good afternoon - I'm a bit late getting in here today.
D, please just take it easy, let the migraine meds, work, and forget about everything until you're feeling better! Dually, I'm so sorry you're in such pain, but thank you for the belly laugh about the "fancy squirrel"! I'm so glad you didn't have to do an emergency skunk eradication bath in the middle of the night! Sunsetzzs, I hope you feel better later in the day and can have your visit. I so enjoyed my time with my granddaughter, even though it completely wore me out. Wonder, you amaze me with your Wonder ingenuity with the summer curriculum. You crack me up with your devious plan. I hope you plan something yummy but simple so it doesn't backfire on you. I had my book club here last week, and I planned something unnecessarily elaborate, but I got through it and we had a very nice dinner. Thankfully that only happens about once every six months. My kids visit from time to time, but they are happy to eat whatever free food shows up on the table LOL Yellowbunny, we didn't even make plans for the 4th - we had the option of joining our neighborhood for the annual gathering to watch the fireworks at the baseball stadium a few blocks away, but it was just too damned hot! I'm 63 and I've seen a lot of fireworks. They're beautiful but they don't change much from year to year, so I don't feel like I missed much staying home with Jon and the fur babies. I hope you enjoy your rest time over the weekend! Leo, I did not know that about John Paul Jones - that's hilarious. I can see the faces on his friends and acquaintences as they try to say "Oh Thank You!" with a straight face. I'm so sorry you're hurting after your therapy - yes it always seems if we manage to get some relief, something we do to get "better" will fix that for us. I'm feelng a bit more energetic today. Yesterday I forgot to take my thyroid med on an empty stomach and I think that made a difference, as it didn't pack the punch of the first day. Today I took it late because I got up late, but I hope to be able to actually get out on my bicycle for a few minutes this afternoon and act like I have some energy. I find myself doing "ADD" things like shaking my legs as I'm sitting and my brain is buzzing with ideas for things my body isn't quite ready to act on, so I think it's kicking in. Still feeling like a complete idiot about missing the call for the "perfect" job. The company has a voice mail system so I can't get through to an actual human, and they aren't returning my calls. I think I blew it and I feel really really stupid. .Yes I was busy, and yes my phone sucks for not telling me I had a message, but damn it, I NEED a job and to miss out on a contact for such lame reasons is very hard to accept, even though I don't have any option but to accept it. Gotta go - going to check the tires on my bike (which for those who don't know has an electric "assist" motor so I can get up hills and don't have to worry about being too tired to get home), and hopefully take it for its first run of the summer later.

After my post we got a call on Jons biopsy. "Possible early melanoma."
We already have referrals and are calling to get it taken care of ASAP. I know I should focus on the first two words but the word "melanoma" has me hyperventilating a bit. Just for funzies I checked him over and found another mole that looks similar. We will make arrangements to take care of both. I really need the bike ride now to burn off some stress.
