I REALLY PRAY THAT IT DOES GET BANNED. THEY CALL IT A CURE AND IT'S NOT. I WAS ONLY ON IT FOR A SHORT TIME, TOO MANY SIDES. BUT I'M WITH YOU ON THE BAN....LOVE...HELEN

I took Lyrica for over a year. Although I didn't really gain weight. I did have the fogginess, chronic fatigue, confusion, weakness, and it made me really moody. I hated it. I stopped taking it after that year because it wasn't doing me any good. I also moved so I couldn't get to the doctor to change up my meds. I hate it. And now every doctor under the sun is gonna be pushing it cuz of their "fda" approval. I am not saying having the FDA isnt great but I don't think that it is as wonderful as they say it is. There are some who are on it and love it. And that is great for them. I haven't found really anything that helps somewhat except muscle relaxers and narcotics. And I can't take antidepressants. Long story. But it seems that is all they want to give me too. :( When will docs start truly listening to thier patients? If they did maybe they could at least help better with our treatment instead of getting us in and out so quickly. I know they have a job to do. However, they don't have to live in my body day to day. And most docs out there have no idea what it is like to fight FM or any chronic illness for that matter. Anyway keep us posted on how you are doing. I would just be careful about taking it. Trust your instinct. If it is messing you up to where you can't function properly like it did to me talk to your doc about switching meds. Don't take meds that could eventually make you worse than when you started. I am afraid of watching tv and seeing one of those lawyer ads saying if you took the drug lyrica you may be entitled to compensation because if you suffered from X Y and /or Z problems while on this meds. Give us a call we can help you..YIKES!!! I guess I am paranoid!

I am so sad that this med was approved. lyrica gave me a bad headache, i couldnt take it. however now since its the only fda approved med for fibro my rheumo will now only be prescribing lyrica. He never had a problem giving narcotics for fibro until now. and its all from a med conference he attended about fibro.

So very sad, and lyrica is very expensive.

I was given this for a couple of months and was like Dreamweever with really bad headaches. I stopped that and now use Cymbalta. It is not really good either, but it is better than Lyrica.
My doctor told me that traditional pain medicines do not work for Fibromyalgia too.

I only took lyrica for a while i didn't see it doing anything for me at all but then again i was taking somwhere in the range of 10 different meds at the time.

I hope they ban it , also.

I had side effects as well. I was dizzy,had headaches, slept WAY too much, felt like I was drunk and had huge mood swings along with angry outbursts over nothing. I'm generally pretty calm.. I really feel that this drug wasn't researched enough for side effects.

i took it for 3 mounths and it made me crazzy . im looking for something , my skrips whunt pay for that and cimbalta . i do like the cimbalta , the deprashon was not to bad . meds cost to much and how do we work and pay for this

I took it for about 7 weeks and then stopped. The side effects werent really too bad for me but I didnt want to stay on any med long term. Im not on anything now and paying a hefty price for it. The side effects of coming off it were a lot worse than being on it.

Im not sure how I feel about it being banned. I think it helps many people but only short-term. I dont think it should be used for long term treatment of FM.

I was on it for 5 months. One of the worst side effects was brainfog that was so thick that I was unable to function.It was horrible getting off too!

I've lost a year of my life to Lyrica - so far... This past year has been a fight against pain and misery that I was loosing for a long time.

I think the FDA was completely irresponsible in approving this poison but that said, what about those who are hooked - trying to get off but unable to tolerate the withdrawal???

They know FM'ers suffer differently from pain; didn't they stop, for one minute, to think about how FM'ers would handle the withdrawal?

Isn't this just friggin' typical?
