" Others will have a better opinion than me but I do know that they come in just dry or dry and moist heat. It has an insert that you dampen. I haven't tried one. I'm intrested to see the replies you get as well. "

" I just bought a Dunlap large heating pad from Rite-Aid. It can be used as a moist or dry heating pad, it's 12 x 24. It automatically shuts off after 1 hour so I don't have to worry when using it at night. It's one of the best things that I've used for the pain. "

" I have a cheapy heating pad from walmart, mine has several settings on it, and it does get pretty hot on the highest setting but it doesnt stay that hot, it goes thru like a cool down cycle then gets hot again.
I have an electric heated matress pad that has 2 settings, one for each side of the bed, it has 5 settings and gets nice and warm. I love it in the winter, but dont use it in the summer
I tried moist heat, i didnt like it,it was almost like it made my tender spots on my back and shoulders worse. "

" I have an electric throw that I lay on the couch with all the time and it is wonderful. when I am hurting from my hips to my toes I can bundle that blanket all around me as tight as I want and turn up the heat. my kids got it for me for Christmas last year. I think they paid around 30 dollars for it at Wal-Mart. I saw a really nice microfiber throw at Sam's Club for around 28, would love to have that one. "
