Fibromyalgia Support Group

I have been on Lyrica for over a year. Haven't gained any weight, and take 100mg when I wake up and 150 mg 2 more times a day. I could probably go on up to 150 in the morning now, but I will just leave it where it is. When I was taking 150 3x a day, in the morning at work I did feel drunk sometimes so they lowered my morning dose and told me I was taking my 2nd dose too soon. Since I have spaced it out, not a problem :-) The morning after my very first dose I got lost on my street 3 times. We have laughed about that quite a few times. Maybe you just need your dose tweeked. Good luck to you!

Yes, I would be dopey all day long and I was so doped up that I forgot the importan thing in life and I would feel like high and dizzyness. After six months it stopped working and I did not like ho it made me feel so I got off it. Now I been off it for 8 months now and what a difference it made. I can think and I am my self now.

No ,when I'd tryed it for about a month or so ,last yr sometime..it didn't make me feel drunk..But,it made me very hungry and I'd gained alot of weight.So, I went off it..It didn't improve any of my FM or CFS symptoms..Some of these drugs they give us,I think can make some of us worse.I don't just do or take whatever the drs tell me
I do my own research on drugs and disorders too
I even had this shrink try to tell me I have "generalized anxiety disorder" .after he'd asked me about my past.I only went to him in the first place to see if he'd recomend I stay on the Adderall that my new Dr is afraid to keep giving me.
He said,I worry alot..which ,if he knew me he'd know that's just not true
So, I'm not taking the 2 other stupid drugs I don't need and know his diagnosis is wrong.wish my old Dr was back..we had everything pretty much straightened out after 7 yrs of trying different things.And he worked as a team with me on treating my ailments.I wish you lots of luck..And just because one is a dr,doesn't mean they're always right or should be left in comtrol of your body.Love & Peace,Missy

I'm in agreement with 'unduki'...Lyrica tried to kill me, too. It made me extremely anxious and angry!

hi.. I was on Lyrica and that entire time I was in seep like state.. slept for 18hrs plus..and when awake felt intoxicated.. I wanted go eat everything and anything in sight... was sad, depressed, miserable !! did not help with my pain. got off it as soon as I could... a NO for me...

I had terrible side effects from Lyrica, I was on it for four months. It didn't help me at all and I was in a worse fog than I was previously. I also had gained about 35 pounds from being on it but I barely ever ate because it made me not hungry. I know others I have talked to in the support group I go to who have said that the foggy, drunk, high feeling went away after a couple of weeks which is why I had stayed on it for so long but in four months it hadn't gotten any better for me.

I take Lyrica and Cymbalta and have great success with them. At first they made me sleepy, but not so much anymore.

It worked for me for 9 months tho the doseage had to be upped twice. It did make me fat tho.

Yes, I felt drunk- not really drunk but weird. I also got pounding headaches and pains in my head. I still had pain and still was tired though- but am worse off of it. I was very tired during the day- like could've just layed on the floor tired and slept no matter where I was! I also had two or three weird days when I was really energetic and talkitive and outgoing- like I had taken some great uppers- but that didn't last. I got nauseated too. Started Cymbalta today.
