I just found out about this today while i was looking on yahoo. I looked into an article that happened to mention it. I was wondering, if anyone knows about this illness...does it affect your genetics if your parent has fibromyalgia? Are there any cases of FOP linked from fibromyalgia?
I'm really curious to know...since I suffer from FMS and want to learn about things that may happen when I give birth to a child.

I am not sure if it is to late to post to this, but I do know a lot about this disease if anyone still needs information. It is not related to FMS in any way, although they do get them confused since FOP is so rare. It is caused by a mutant gene that has been activated. It is something that is passed on in genes but it is not usual to find it in resent relatives. I hope this helps. Dar
