I am also trying to cope but I am new to this group and have found everyone awesome and supportive. I am managing one day at a time as it is my husband who has been arrested. We are at the very beginning stages and I am frightened. But God heals all wounds. I would pray and ask all to pray that God touches the judge heart. Also, there are programs that maybe your son could join inside which could help take some good time of his sentence. Good luck and remember to put God first and believe Jesus will walk with you.

Hon, You will cope with this by letting him know that he is loved despite the fact that he made a mistake. You will visit him. You will give him words that will help him to grow in to a good man. You are a strong woman and you know that whatever you feel is half of what he is feeling right now--so you will be strong for him and for the rest of your family and for you. You will also have help here at DS when you feel down and help from above when you least expect your guardian angels to be there. You are in my thoughts and prayers! Hugs, sara

They are right.....no matter what happens you and he will survive it! I know right now you do not think so.....but you will! I thought my heart would never be the same when my son got 25 yrs for something he did not do.......3 yrs later and an Appeal later and resentencing hearing and they saw the light....he is home now!
So whatever happens....pray and pray more that His will be done in your sons case.....and make sure the lawyer does the motions for an Appeal....if he wins it could work the same for you and your son. Make sure you take care of yourself so you can be there for him....physically, emotionally and mentally.......and the rest is in God's hands and the lawyers! Keep coming here....without this place and these people I would have never made it thru the last three years! We have several great groups..........this one and Parents of Prisoners too. After they come home we have Families of Prisoners Released and Home Group. So reach out and be comforted by many in these groups......YOU CAN AND WILL SURVIVE WHATEVER TAKES PLACE! I will be praying for you and him! Love Rhea

You will cope. You will have your days where you just can't handle it, but then tomorrow is a new day. You can't change the past. You can't change what has already happened. Believe that everything will work out. They do have some good programs in a few of the prisons. (I don't know where he is going so I will pray it is a good one.) My daughter finally got transfered to her prison last week after 5 months of county jail. I will keep you in my prayers.
