being harassed, im terrifed & husband in jail

my husband is in prison and i am being harassed my a man who claims to be a police officer. he is really freaking me out saying things like, i will find out where you live. he said he is gonna run my phone number and find out the name and aaddress. he also said that i admitted to having a drug problem, which i NEVER said!!!!! i dont nor have i ever done drugs! he said he is gonna call the police in my town and make them get me help for my drug problem. i called the sheriffis dept cause i live in the county and im going first thing in the morning to file harassment charges. i am so scared he is gonna come after me!!!!! i talked to my husband about it and he is pissed! i wish he was here to hold me and protect me! great, now im crying!!! : ( im scared and i dont know if this guy is just getting off on scaring me or if he is gonna come after me. i wish my hubby was here so bad!!!!!!!! please pray that he doesnt come after me! thanks everyone, im terrified right now!!

tired: it was over the phone. i cahnged my phone number and filed a police report. he said he was a police officer and he was gonna pull my number and find out where i live. the sheriff that took the report said he doubts he is a real cop and if he is he will be in alot of trouble! he also said that the only way he can get my phone number pulled is by getting a subpoena, and you have to have a very good reason to get one, such as a death threat or bomb threat. he said it sounds like this guy is just basically a creep and to call him if this guy somehow gets my new phone number and he will investigate deeper. thanks for the prayers!! its been a horrible year. my husband also left this morning for prison : (

I know you are terrified beyond words, lean on those of us who have gotten past this part....we're ALL here for you. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Have you talked to your phone company? Between them and the police they can tap your phone and hopefully get a tape of this creep. Does your state have stalking laws? They should and you may have some other choices through there. If he is an officer, get a hold of the attorney general for your state, or some other police agency(ie. federal, state, county, local). This way you will not be utilizing the same place he works. Please get help as soon as possible, you need to keep yourself safe, and asap.
