What can we do?

My bf is coming up on his minimum. Long 7 months of waiting are coming to an end, or so we hope. His counselor said that his paperwork was pre-signed by the judge on his sentencing date, and supposidley she submitted the paperwork for his release. I called Prison Records and they have no information on his release so I called this organization that is supposed to help families of prisoners and they said they never heard of the judge pre-signing the release paperwork. I can't seem to get clear information on where is his paperwok. Everyone in the prison system is saying wait for his date and then we'll know if he is getting released. I called his lawyer, and waiting for a call back. I don't understand if his paperwork still went to the judge even though it was pre-signed of it is sitting in some void. I don't want to wait until his release date just to find out that he is not getting released, it'll be a huge let down for him. How can I get to the bottom of this? His counselor was saying to him that I shouldn't be calling anywhere! WTF??? I feel frustrated and lost, I'm afraid to say anything to him, but I just don't know what to do. Does anyone know anything about this? Why is everything such a big deal?

" It is frustrating dealing with the judical system. MY experience is that the right hand don't know what the left hand is doing. What is your love one saying about it. His counselor needs to clarify what he means. Meanwhile, try to be patient. It's exciting to have them released but the system don't move very fast. "

" Along with his counselor most inmates have a caseworker. The caseworker should be aware of his release date. If he will be on supervised release once out he will most likely have to have home plan set in place with the caseworker before leaving the facility. As far as the judge pre-signing any release papers I have never heard of that either but not to say it does not happen. FYI they dont like anyone to know anything as they are afraid of people getting too much information and using it against them. It shouldn't be a big deal but to them it is becaue they always are in fear of having one escape. I know this is easier said then done, but try to be patience. It will happen before you know it. "

" Talked to Defender's Office, and Office Community Justice & Outreach, got 10 different phone numbers, finally found a Supervisor of Records, he said he IS in the system to be released, so he doesn't know who I talked to but everything is in order. Got kind of snooty with me, when I asked the same question 3 different ways, lol, but I don't care, maybe if his subordinates knew what they were doing I wouldn't have to be calling and trying to get a straight answear. I am fine with being patient as long as I know that the wheels of beurocracy are turning (at the snail speed of course).

It is funny there are all these standards, but in our case, no judge sign off needed, no home plan, no nothing apparently, it is throwing everyone off, what a joke!

Thanks everyone for your support! "
