Our cat Lucy Lu died in my girlfriends arms Monday, I know it is a cat but it is like a person just died, she was like family, she had her own personality and a distinct meow that she would speak whenever her name was called to her on cue.

I still am not use to her being around the house, even tho I saw her died I expect to see her come running up the stairs any moment now

I am depressed over it, I guess it will just take time

I'm sorry if this is not the right group for this

" I am also a friend in grief. Lost my beloved Mushie on Dec. 2 to cancer. Your pain and believe me, will subside with time. You are going through the grief process which is healthy, do not, however, grief to the point of sickness, in that case, see an m.d. Peace and quiet will come once you get through this needed awful process. I know. I cried for three weeks constantly. Hug yourself and be in tune with your grief and share with others. We care. Peace will come to your heart in due time and remember lovingly your times together.
Love, a friend, Silver Tabby "

" Hello, I feel your pain. I just had to get my cat put to sleep. He had kidney disease, it got so bad so quickly, I did not want to see him suffer anymore. He was almost 17 years old.
He was such a comfort to me. I miss his purr, his meow, his warm furry body lying next to my head. I know cats do not live forever but I really was hoping that he would live a little bit longer. I miss him so much! I hope that you will feel better as the time goes by. I know that it hurts, but you will never forget about your Lucy Lu. Kiss a picture of her everyday. This helps me sometimes when I kiss a picture of Salym. "
