Tremors & Cognitive Ability?

I've had really bad tremors for several years now. I type all my work at college because my writing is illegible. And I am very clumsy which is all part of the tremor.
But when my tremors are at their worst, as they have been all morning, my words get mixed and up and letters get mixed up. It's almost like i'm dyslexic. I also get my words mixed up when I talk and trip over my words. Overall my cognitive ability is slower and jumbled up. I'm off to uni in September so I cant afford for this to affect my work. But is it related to the tremor? I know some studies have linked cognitive ability with tremors but it's not credible enough to be medically cited. Has anyone else experienced this? As I was born with ET I could not tell whether or not cognitive thinking is effected. When I hit 50, I started slurring my words at unexpected times and could not even sign my name without a struggle. It turns out that ET can affect the tounge, the palate and larnyx. I visited a neurologist and he put me inderol and those problems went away Go see a neurologist, only a specialist can tell what you have and how to treat it.

I have seen a specialist but cos of other meds i'm on they're not too keen on putting me on any tablets for it. I often find my larnyx shakes as well. Thanks for the reply!

I noticed my words getting mixed up also and it's embarrasing. Even though I can only tolerate half dosage of proprananlol. However,I noticed my thoughts were clearer when I stopped my meds. It must be a side effect.
