Hi guys. I'm new to this group.

My hands have been shaky for the last two years or so. At first I thought it was due to my asthma meds. But they persisted even after I was weaned off the worst of the meds. I was sent to a neuro and she thought that it was cerebellar ataxia. After an MRI she found that my cerebellum was in good shape but the I had enlarged ventricles in the brain. The problem there though is that my symptoms are not typical of hydrocephalus. My problems are hand tremors and balance issues.

She has me on 150 mg of primidone and 2 mg of lorazepam a day and it has helped a lot. I still flail my arms a bit and hae a lot of trouble filling out forms or cutting meat but otherwise I'm much better. We are monitoring the possible hydrocehalus situation.

My biggest frustration is doctor's offices. They always hand you a multipage form to fill out, knowing full well that you can't do it. I sometimes wonder if that is some sort of test to see how far you can go. In any event, I don't get much farther that my name.

I hope all are well,
Tom
