" As far as I know, only dbs is the only cure or treatment, that is deep brain stimulation. Hope you get better. "

" I'm with you I am pretty annoyed with my hand tremor as well, and now my voice is being effected. My right leg shakes on occasion--generally when I'm driving--but what gets me is it says in the literature on ET's that is does not effect both sides of the body--mine is left hand and right leg, now vocal cords--so that makes left, right and middle.--URRRRRRRRRRRR

Another treatment is Antiseizure meds, or botox injections--I would not rather do either one of them due to the side effects. My neuro tried on med and it effected my heart so I had to stop it immediately. I dont do well with meds so I look at anything alternative to try.
How many of you get cramps in the body part effected? I have just started getting severe cramps in my left hand. It goes away after massaging the hand for a bit--but boy what an inconvenience since I am left handed. "

" have you considered the medical options of having surgery since you are a dancer and there is no cure or research to back up the reason for it? Does drinking alochol help? I am tempted to try that myself--have a nip or two a day to see what the results might be.--LOL "

" Even though I was born with ET, I never had any trouble speaking. That all changed when I hit 50. I was slurring my words. It would suddenly start without warning.. Well it turns out that ET can affect your tongue, palate and/or larnyx.I take inderal for ET and it does not happen anymore. "

" Ahhhhhhhhhh Celt--you may have solved my slurring and bumping issues with my speech. I have spoken to my sons SP and she believes the voice changes is due to the ET but she has never heard of it effecting articulation and fluency--please tell me how you came about the connection. I want to let her know. "

" Inderal is a propanol(sp) and I can not take anything like that--it effected my heart badly with just 1 mg. Heck I can't even do Benadryl without my heart stopping. Anyone know if Triple Complex is any good--I have used some native remedies in the past and it's been hit and miss with them. None of the ADHD supplements helped my son, we use other brands for that.
