For all those who have been touched by this deadly Cancer please give your support to help fund research for Esophageal Cancer.
This cancer is the second deadlest cancer behind Pancreatic and receives the least amount of research money. The more we get the word out and support the cause the better research we can get. I found a web site CHOOSE HOPE.COM they have finally came out with a braclet for Esophageal Cancer it is Perriwinke Blue along with many other items. There is also some very valuable information on this cancer on that site worth reading. Please check it out. I have read many stories of people who are winning over this cancer and that is great news, my husband did not have that kind of luck. From diagnoses to death 5 months. Reason... the symptoms are overlooked or mis-diagnosed so when they finally diagnose it most of the time it is too late as in my husbands case. We need to make people aware of symptoms like we do for Breast Cancer, Colon & Lung Cancers and people need to take charge of their lives, doctors make mistakes and it should not be your life. My husband had no chance. He fought hard and never gave up. Hi. Thanks for posting this. I'm still checking all of it out, but I did get to watch Diane Sawyer's video of the test they did on the guy for checking for Barrett's. I'd never heard of that type test.

I agree with you. I lost my husband in May of 09 from this beast and other complications. (long story) My son and I feel the same way you do about other cancers. Yes doctors make mistakes. What we are trying to do right now is start a benefit in our town for awareness. Its kinda hard trying to find an organization with just this type of cancer. Julie - I got car magnets from www.ecaware.org. They are nice magnets for esophageal cancer. Beacancerdancer.org also is supposed to have car magnets and I believe they say "heartburn is deadly" or something like that. I bought 50 of the esophageal cancer magnets from ecaware to hand out during the wake and funeral and to all friends and relatives that would be willing to display them.
