A silly question?

I have read so many of your posts and I am so thoroughly confused. I do have a question though. Is it possible to have Barrett's Esophagus and then go back for another look down the throat with the scope and find that it's gone? Wishful thinking? Or possibility?

" Hi. I don't know if you knew it, but there is also a Barrett's Esophagus board. You might find more information there of people that have been diagnosed with Barrett's. In the daily strength search bar, just type in Barrett's esophagus and it pulls up disucssions regarding it.

I know in my case, when I found out I had Barrett's - it was the same time they took biopsies and told me I had esophageal cancer from it, so I never learned or read up much on Barrett's. At that time I did pick up a brochure that said only 1-5% of people with Barrett's will ever get esophageal cancer, but that was about 4 years ago and I'm not sure what the #'s are now.

I think you're doing the right thing, for sure, keeping on your Drs. to make sure you don't have EC. I would think with a scope & biopsies that would answer that question? I could be wrong, but that's how I found out. "

" I'd also suggest that you request an endoscopic ultrasound rather than a plain endoscopy since this procedure is FAR more exacting. "

" I'm sorry it's just me again. I am feeling very frustrated and confused. I looked for just Barrett's esophagus like you recommended and I can't find anything. I'm either just completely computer illiterate or something. I'll just wait until I see my doctor I guess. "

" No, no, no. You are NOT on the wrong board. There are a lot of people discussing Barrett's and dealing with that, so I was just wanting to be helpful in guding you to them as well. Sorry, if I came across any other way. Everyone is welcome on every board of DS, I'm sure :-) If I remember correctly the last time you had a scope you said that your Dr. said you had Barrett's, but not cancer. I was so happy for you and know that many people deal with issues Barrett's alone brings to it. Hope you get good news this time too - and some answers to your concerns! Brenda "
