Does Anyone Take Trileptal?

Hey everyone!
I started Trileptal last night after being on dilantin for 30 years. I was dizzy and felt like I was in a fog. Eventually either it passed or I went to sleep. This morning I took my meds and felt like I was in a fog after about an hour. I wasn't sleepy, just sort of dazed. I can still feel it but it comes and goes. Has anybody taken Trileptal, and if so how did it ake you feel? How long did it take before you were used to it. I am on a very low dosage right now but it sort of makes me wonder.

" I was on Trileptal once for a week. They took me off the med, because I was dizzy and kept blacking out. Tell your doctor right away. This isn't normal side effects. Please call him right away. Let me know what happens. Good luck! I was also on Dilantin too. Why did they take you off the Dilantin? Were you on it too long? "

" I was on dilantin for 30 years but found out on tuesday that I have become "resistant" because I starting having "auras". My Neuro decided to switch me to Trileptal and said the switch should be pretty simple. I am currently taking 300 mg per day. I don't like this and am hoping that it gets better but I will definately call my Neuro to see what he has to say about it. Thanks for the info.

" I was taken off Trileptal this mornng. I woke up and took my meds early because I wanted to go to church and I thought that the dizziness and fog would be gone by that time. I went back to sleep, woke up extremely tired. I was sitting at the table drinking my morning coffee and couldn't hold my head up. My family carried me back to the living room, put me on the couch and called me doctor. I was still taking my dilantin because the doctor didn't want to take me off until I had enough Trileptal in my system. Oh well, maybe the next med will work. "
