My best friend has epilepsy and has been taking extacy a lot lately. She has grand maul seizures already without the use of any other drugs besides the xanax she is prescribed. I am really worried about her. She has taken X at least every other day for the past 3 weeks or so.....at least 2-4 at a time. She is also using to much xanax to come down each time.

She recently had a seizure 2 days ago and still says she doesn't feel right....not like herself....sleeping a lot and being really confused and out of it. She has ABSOLUTELY no memory of the past 2 days.

WHAT IS GOING ON???

I wanted to bring her to the ER tonight (out of fear that she would have another seizure...maybe they'd keep her for help if it happened at the ER) but she wouldn't let me. She promised to never touch it again but I want some hard evidence to put in front of her face in hopes that she will REALLY open her eyes!!!!

I am not getting clear enough answers from my google search....PLEASE HELP!

Nikki

" I get like that alot too.

I once slept for 23 hours straight after a seizure, it wasnt even a particularly bad one either so i have no idea why i was so drained.

I also forget days randomly, and especially details.

Im pretty sure that taking drugs wont help any, I smoke weed or atleast used to and i didnt see any corrolation between seizures and smoking, so i dont know.

To me it just sounds like she needs to be checking shes on the right meds? Also WHY is she taking that much X? Have you asked her about her mental health? Maybe shes trying to forget something or just cope?

Just a thought (Sorry for the rant) "

" How long has your friend had seizures? Was she ever tested for them?

When I was diagnosed with seizures, I was put on seizure medication. A few years later, my doctor put me on xanax and then valium for stress. I can't say I have ever heard of anyone using xanax to control seizures. When I found a doctor willing to work with me and do testing, the first thing he did was wean me off of the valium and did not want me taking the xanax either.

Why and how long has she been taking the ectasy? Combinations of medications can cause seizures in people that would not necessary have them.

It sounds like your friend has more issues than she is willing to admit. If you would have taken her to the hospital, in all probability, they would have done blood work and found it. That may have been what she was afraid of happening.

Try talking to her about going to a rehab center. I am guessing she is addicted to the ectasy if she has been taking that much that often. The problem, most rehab centers will not take the patient unless they are wanting the help. Otherwise, they get out of rehab and go right back to the drug. The centers would be wasting their time and using bed space that could be used for someone that really wants the help. "
