I work as a substitute teacher aide and I work with the disabled or just hyperactive teens. My doctor is lowering my Lamictal dosage. Should I still work or should I take some more time off? My doctor told me not to lift and take it easy. I really need the money and plus I am bored sitting at home all day.

" You state you are working as a teacher's aide and with people with disabilities, so I am guessing you have someone with you that can help you out if you have a seizure. Are you having to lift patients? That could be detrimental to the patient. How do you feel since lowering the dose?

A few months ago, I started working part-time for a company that actually helps people with disabilities find work and employers that are willing to work with them. We have something like a warehouse in the back of our office which is divided into two groups of clients. Some need more life skills to get out in the workforce and there are others that have more severe disabilities, such as autism or other mental impairments which would not allow them to work if it wasn't for this company. They are paid on piece work.

I was just fortunate enough that the company had an opening and offered the position to me. I have been on S.S. for 6 years, so I understand about being bored. I do not work directly with the clients, but I try to talk to them and get to know them whenever I get a chance. I love my job and would not change it for anything.

Good luck to you. "

" I am not to comfortable with the idea. I really don't like my meds being played around with. It starts to interfere with all of my other meds. I am already feeling the effects of the withdrawl. This doesn't seem right actually. Well the doc seen the bloodwork so maybe he is right. I hope? I guess I will take another week off. Thanks for listening to me complain. "
