I taking clonzepam for anxiety and lamictal for seizures. My doctor sent me for a veeg and it came back normal now they say that my seizures are stress related. These cluster of seizures are not stress related. I know they are not. My husband believes the doctors and not me. My husband always was my advocate because, my memory of my seizures aren't that reliable. I have a journal of my seizures with dates and what happened that day. Stress related seizures doesn't fit with these clusters. How can I get my husband and my doctors to listen to me?

" As far as your seizures go, you know more than either your husband or any MD you might see. *I went to 8 different MD's before I found one who listened to me and was able to stop my seizures from occurring.* A journal is a great resource to have, keep it up, and get a new Dr. Good luck, it may seem tiring or hopeless, but keep fighting for yourself!!! " By you are paying for them and they are not not paying for themselfs,
you are the patient and they are the doctors, so you say you listen and I talk or I leave otherwise I will get a new neurologist. Doctors are not gods! "

" Just because you have a normal EEG does not mean you don't have epilepsy. Even if you have epilepsy it does not mean your seizures are not stress related. People do not usually have seizures from stress alone.

For me personally, I got Juvenile Myoclonic epilepsy when I was 21. Apparently I had the inclinations for it, but stress pushed me over the edge and I have had it ever since. Luckily my seizures only occur in the first half hour of waking up. I am on 200mg of Lamictal per day that completely controlled the grand mals, but not the myoclonic jerks. For them I went on Clobazam two weeks ago and had my first grand mal seizure in 4 years!!! The medication back fired, I am gutted.

Back to you. You should probably get an MRI also - EEGs read the waves and MRIs view what’s going on inside - you should make sure you don't have an abnormal growth or anything and find a neurologist who you trust. You are right to follow your gut instinct and I highly doubt stress is all there is too it.
Good luck. "

" I just had about 7 MRIs and 2 x-rays recently done and countless eegs done recently. Everything came back normal. Maybe the 2 during the veeg was something different than the ones last month. I have no idea, but I do know this much that my gut tells me something different. Thanks for your help. "
