Hi I have juvenile myoclonic epilepsy which is grand mals and little myoclonic jerks. I have had totally controlled (NO) seizures for 4 YEARS!!! on 200mg of Lamictal per day. I still had some jerks so my doctor put me on 10mg of Frisium too 2 weeks ago. It stopped the jerks but last night I had my first grand mal in 4 years ;( I am heart broken. I wasn't tired or stressed and I thought Lamictal was preventing my epilepsy. I think the Frisium, preventing my jerks covered up the warning signs that I should not spend 6hrs straight on my computer and I should go to bed. What should I do? Have more Lamictal? Go off Clobazam? Advice please!

" Have you called your doctor to let him know what happened? If you have only been taking the Frisium for 2 weeks, that may be causing the seizures.

How often do you spend that much time on the computer? I don't know how your body reacts, but if I get totally involved in something, I may not get tired while I am focused on it. Once I am finished, I can become exhausted about a half hour later. If I get overtired, that can throw me into seizures.

Hope this helps. Take care "

" Thanks - thats given me a bit to think about. I'm sure I used to be able to spend that long on my comp before! I have left a message with my GP and have got an appointment with my neurologist in about one month. Its just soooo depressing because now I can't drive for a year and if freaks me out that I was driving the day before and everything was normal for 4 years and now this, totally out of the blue. I'm going to take half a frisium tonight and tomorrow then no more. I thought I'd better not go straight from one to none. "
