Has anyone ever gotten an aura before a petit-mal

I had a big question to ask if anyone has expierenced this or even know someone who has had it happen to them.
My question is;Has anyone expierenced an aura before they(or you)have a petit-mal...?For example;I was online talking to a friend today and all of a sudden I just felt strange like I was in a dream(the only way I can really explain it).This is very unusual because,I usually have strange akward smells and tastes to the point Im nauseous if Im getting an aura.Durring this I instantly couldent see it was as If I was blind all I could see is blackness I even tried rubbing my eyes that didnt even work.It was still black.Afther a few minutes Im guessing,because one minuet I was black the nexst minuet I notice I was stairing at my keyboard.I knew I had to have been talking because,my friend on the other screen said are you there,u ok?in capital letters.Then she asked me what does this ghuytanvjhiw mean?I have no clue what she was talking about until she told me to move the screen up and thats what I typed.How I typed it,I dont understand because I couldent see..at all.Until I noticed I was spacing out. I get auras a lot and not all of them are the same. I have had 3 occasions where I have actually seen myself shaking. I normally black out before the seizure begins and will do something or go somewhere and not know it until I "come to".
A good example happened last week. I went to an epilepsy support group meeting at the local hospital. I walked up there and was sitting outside on a bench when I felt an aura coming on. The next thing I remember is Doug, the counselor for the Epilepsy Foundation, saying hello to me and saying my name. That must has snapped me out of it. He later told me I had gone through the revolving doors and once in the lobby was walking around. Even after he mentioned my name I asked him where I was. He started asking me questions that we would both know the answers to . . . what day is it . . . what time the meeting starts . . . his name? When I start answering the questions right, people know "I'm back".

Thank you for responding.It really helps to know Im not going insane.It's just hard to explain to your friends online when they dont understand and ask you a bizzillion questions you cant really answer.It's as if Im being controled by a robot.I know it sounds a little weird but,your example is very similar what happened today/yesterday.Thanks for responding again. =)

I know just what you are talking about! I do the same thing. It's like re-living a dream. Being there and seeing it all over again. A funny feeling in my head. I know what is going on around me though, I can even carry on a conversation and you'd never know what was happening to me. I haven't had a real seizure in years, I know that auras are a seizure but I don't black out or anything. I'm one of the lucky few.
