" I had the monitoring about 9 years ago. To be honest, I don't remember a lot about it. It seems like I was sleeping a lot due to the number of seizures I was having. I was sent home after 3-4 days because I had enough seizures.

I am currently seeing a different doctor since I had the monitoring and he is suggesting I have another one to see about the surgery. If I am not mistaking, you may not have to have someone with you. Instead of pushing the button, the monitor automatically comes on and also warns someone at the nurses' station so they can be there with you. "

" Hi I am Jr I have been through this. every time that I have a seizure i loose a lot of my memory, but as i rember i was under a video camra 24 hours a day and i was in the hospital for 2 weeks it was hard when thsy took away my meds don't worry though you will be fine this will probly help you!! you will just have to have to sit in the hospital for a while and every time you don't fell good you will have to push a button so a nurse can come in the room to make shure that you don't get hurt when you have a seizure i, know this sounds like it sucksbut it will probly giuve your doctor a way that they can help you. What they found out about me when I did this was that i had a scar on my brain but it was too deep on my brain to do surgey on it so I just tried meds untill i found the ones that worked for me.
Good luck to you and don,t worry you will be fine "

" I had a VEEG not quite three years ago. Take something you like to do with you, because you may have a lot of time alone. When I had mine, though, I had a humdinger of a seizure DURING some of the neuropsych testing, and I got to see it because it was a VEEG. It was also the first seizure of mine that had ever been "caught" on record in the thirty two years since my original diagnosis. Mine was only three and a half days, because between the VEEG,
stuff took Dawn AND Tide to get all the muck out of my hair!

I know for me, they cranked the heat, scheduled it the week before my period and THEN kept me up and only let me sleep for 4 hours/night. ALL three of those (heat, hormones, and sleep deprivation) were all triggers of my seizures.

For me, the worst part was the adhesive they used on the electrodes. You know that green goop they use on a normal EEG? For me, that took TIDE to get out of my hair. THIS "

" I had a video monitoring EEG done 3 weeks ago to determine whether or not the spells I was having were seizures. Turns out they were. The worst parts for me were not being able to shower for a week and getting the damn glue they used out of my hair. "
