Help please... I do not understand

I have so many questions I do not know where to start. I am so clueless as to what is going on with my body. Can someone please talk to me and tell me about what is happening to me and if this is normal to people with seizures. I have noticed that I am having weird things happening to me... my muscles jerk off and on throughout the day and night. It reminds me of when you are just going to sleep and something makes your body jump. Is this normal? I also am having a lot of problems with memory. Not just with remembering the seizure but simple things now like words and places that I have know for years. Simple tasks like going to the store are troublesome sometimes because I get disoriented. Example... The other day I was talking to my son and I could not for the life of me tell him that he could find his socks in the closet. Of all the things I could not remember the word Closet... I am so scared and do not know what to do. Can someone please help?

" The lost words things scares me, as does forgetting names and faces. It's hard to explain to people that this is a side effect of a neurological condition. Sometimes it makes me feel crazy, especially when I do random things like put orange juice in the cabinet instead of the refrigerator! Frankly, I have no solutions, just wanted to let you know how NOT alone you are, and send good thoughts your way. "

" I went to the Neurologists and they set up an appointment for me to have an MRI and a MRA and also to have a NeuroPsych Evaluatiion to see what all I am remebering and how bad my memory is getting. They also have asked me to call the SSD and apply since I can not drive any longer and that I am having muscle spasms all the time. I fill out the papers online yesterday and now will be waiting to see what happens. I feel so lost in all of this. One day I am a vibrant, full of life, able to leap buildings in a single bound woman... the next... I have my 17 year old driving me to the store because I can not remeber how to get there... YIKES! I hate to say it this way though... but I am glad I am not alone in my symptoms... thank you all for letting me know that you have the same things going on. Hugz* "

" Speech/word loss sounds a lot like the simple partials -- not complex -- that I'd have. You and I might be carrying on a conversation, but all of a sudden, you switched to a really bizarre foreign language. I honestly would nod alot -- to keep the other person talking -- until THEY came back to speaking plain ol' English again. (Actually, till I could understand it again.)
The others are right -- those are really disorienting, and for me they were almost scarier than the complex partials. For the complexes, I wasn't aware of them until AFTER they were over and I was really out of postictal state, but on the simple partials, I knew that I wasn't playing with a full deck at the moment. " When I was on Lamictal I had muscle jerks and twitches, along with memory loss and cognition/speech problems.
You're not alone. I'll be praying for you, ma'am.

" I both have & have gone through many of the symptoms you have. I know that medications are a big factor. I've had Epilepsy almost my whole life and have taken many different kinds of medications and because they were'nt helping in controlling the seizures I had brain surgery (left temporal lobectomy) which has helped in controlling the seizures. I still medication. I also take Lamical (600 MG) and Dilantin (200mg.) a day. Actually, the Lamical was increased from 400mg to 600mg. Now i'm having alot me symptoms. One of them is short term memory , cognitive ( keeping my balance ) . Do you take any other mediation besides the Lamical? "

" I had to go through a neurophycological eval and the doc said I have left temporal frontal brain injury that is causing the tonic clonic seizures. They only have me on lamictal xr 500mg 1xdaily and they are talking about adding more since it is not controlling the seizures. They said the cogative problems is both meds and the brain injury. Now I have to go to a speech therapist to help with recall issues. "
