I remember having panic attacks during my childhood, from being bullied in school. My question is: can Phenobarbital be prescribed to control a hormonal imbalance?

I have been on Pheno for several years. I do not know about hormonal imbalance but it can be helpful for panic attacks. You should know that it's use comes with a steep price (side effects and addiction).
Many times peoplle are diagnosed with panic attacks when they actually are having partial seizures. Any type of stress can bring on simple partial seizures. Including being bullied. Read as much as you can about pheno before considering using it in the long term. Usually it would be considered a second tier drug (one that is used when all others fail to work). Make sure you are not dealing with a seizure problem rather than a hormonal imbalance. You need to see a good neuro who specializes in seizures in order to figure this out.. Good luck to you Sandra78
